Guys please,

I need answers on my post. I am going crazy on this. It shows "DOS Case File Number: Sent" What does this mean and where did they send it to.

Urgent answers pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I haven’t seen this status for anyone here at this forum but I assume it is like the receipt notice USCIS sends. DoS asks us for two envelopes but they end up using just one to send the favorable recommendation. Perhaps the second envelope is meant for this which they usually don’t use. If you have tracking information for your envelopes, you can try checking it.

Thanks. I assume it is probably the date it was sent from Missouri. I have checked the two envelopes I included, not of them is in the tracking system yet. I believe on of the envelopes is to receive the favorable recommendation from DoS and the other to received the final recommendation from USCIS.

One thin I noticed in every post is the most current update is always the one on the top of the table.

But I still welcome more suggestions so mind can be on rest. Also I want comments on the NOS document which was sent since August 8 but was not updated with the update I got today.

Hi everyone!

My government already sent the NOS but due to delays is the postal service of my home country the other documents and the money order haven't arrived it. Do you think it is a problem if the NOS arrives first? Should I ask them to send it again after the case number is registered online?

thanks!

No it's fine, they update based on the case number, they're not gonna throw your files.

Has anyone received DOS or USCIS receipt number? I have been calling every day to USCIS even spoken twice to immigration officer! and nothing, they can't find my file. I have also contacted twice DOS by email, and they haven't responded. It's been 31 days for me since my fav recommendation. I'm desperate

I've applied for a J1 waiver on July 18th (see my Status of Application attached).

I have a job offer and will change my Visa to a H1b. My employer is not subjected to the cap.

They need me ASAP and asked me to speed up the process as much as possible.

Besides premium processing for the H1b, I am wondering if anybody here knows when would they be able to file a H1b petition for me? Can they file now while my waiver is still being processed? Can they file only after the DoS issues a favorable recommendation? Or should they file only when I receive the waiver from the USCIS?

I did some online search and apparently there are two strategies. The safe one is to wait for the waiver letter. The second is filling the H1b petition after having a favorable recommendation from the DoS, while it is been processed by the USCIS. In the worst case scenario, the USCIS might ask for a Request of Evidence for the waiver, which could buy some time until the letter is sent.

Does anyone have some experience in this matter?

Thank you!

I am on the same boat. My NOS was received on 7/22/2019, and I am waiting for the response from the employer's lawyer to see what we could do at this moment. The waiting is a torture. Hang in there buddy!

I have read somewhere in this forum that uscis doesn’t use the envelope we send to DoS. About NOS update, even mine was received before they updated documents received but they added NOS two days after other documents. For some others it took upto 4 weeks even when their NOS was received before DoS updated their documents received.

Sorry to hear that. Was yours a case of government funding?

Yes and Yes. It's alright, 1.5 years of a break at my parents place is alright, sucks cuz I have a husband here. We'll just need to find ways to meet regularly.

I am sorry to hear, feeling unfavourable will be my outcome too, because my lawyer wrote a simple letter of reason. Sigh.

What did the senator have to do with you getting a favourable response?

All the best.

Unfavorable according to my senator, boo! lol I really don't get how they decide when my case was pretty strong. Oh well, good luck everyone else.

I'm so sorry to hear that. My scholarship was fully-funded by a research agency of my home country, but my program took place at a federal agency. I applied for the waiver under the NOS, since the agency that sponsored me issued the non-objection letter to my embassy, but I'm very scared of having my waiver denied as well. I'm waiting for the waiver to adjust my status, and this waiver process is giving me anxiety.

I wish you the best <3
