Are there any other people whose case got accepted by the lockbox in early May still waiting for the final approval?

I got the I797C in mid-May stating they accepted my case (NOL based) and nothing since then...

Hi @eliottreid! I think they are trying to evaluate if you spent a responsible time back in your home country, even if you did not go back to your home country for 2 years in a row. In my own statement, I did write that I had already spent a significant amount of days in my home country (all breaks), and that I will finish my 730 days at home this very summer. I wish you all the best! Fingers crossed!

Hi,

If you have records of those days spent in your country, you might be able to just go to the embassy and get a visa.

I had to wait quite a while for my sponsor views. It turns out they had sent them and the waiver office missed them. It came up when I contacted the people who had to send the sponsor views and they told me they had already sent them. 😑

Good luck!

I went through all  of the post in this forum and I am still confuse as to the timeline for getting a favourable response after you NOS has been received. I am even more confuse with the time period it takes from a favourable response to actual granting of the waiver itself.

Some individuals have been really blessed/lucky because their timelines seem faster than most. I am just patiently waiting while checking my waiver status daily. Just wish I knew the timeline i was working with which would make this process less stressing.

How did you contact your sponsors? I contacted the person on my DS2019 couple months ago and zero response lol.

Hi @Coco8! Thanks for your input.

Who was your sponsor, US government funding of any kind? I contacted both Fulbright in the US (never answered) and my home-country Fulbright (they did answer favorably but never told me they were reached by DOS). I am going to contact the university who hosted me just in case.  I wonder who they are trying to reach, it would be so much easier if I knew. Still waiting here...

Regarding the days spent in my home country I don't have records besides flights and some bank statements. I don't know if that would be accepted.

Hey @JWaiver_2019, any idea what I should do for my sponsor? I emailed the person on my DS2019 a month ago and she didn't respond :( I know sponsor view can take forever if they don't expedite it. 😕

I am not sure for your case .. As I have provided all details in my earlier posts to guide all other applicants, with all my actions to expedite things and resolve issues I faced, I am sharing here again, but all applicants should read all posts and trust me it will really pay you back (choice is yours):

I did some home work (including reading all past posts/threads in this forum and learning from experiences) before submitting application and was in direct contact with the office responsible for sponsor views (in my case, office was mentioned on DS2019). I was communicating with them since beginning of application (actually I called them for advice before submitting DOS application as well), and kept them updated with the progress and was not difficult for me to request the office to return sponsor views within few days of DOS request (check my timeline).

May be I was lucky since this depends from case to case, some offices are easy to communicate others not. Just try to get office contact information (hard to get for full brights I believe) .. but do whatever you can .... or wait ... and try to talk or visit in person rather than sending email. This is my advice, if possible in your situation.

Your I94 records, passport stamps, flight tickets...etc all work. I didn't have my old passport because we give them back after getting new ones, so I called my embassy and they sent me scanned pictures of the stamps.

Hey all,

Finally received a favorable recommendation within a month since the the NOS update. Does anyone how much time it's going to take for the final I612 approval? Any information would help.

Thanks

Thanks for sharing, I am waiting on a favourable response too keeping my fingers crossed. Based on this forum it's hard to give a specific time for the waiver final approval. The time varies but its seems 3-8 weeks could be an appropriate timeline to avoid disappointment. Just saying.

Yeah, seems like that ! So if I understand correctly, the USCIS approval after DoS favorable recommendation takes between 3-8 weeks

I am no expert, just regular reader in the forum. I am just saying that you should say 3-8 weeks to avoid disappointment. Some people timeline is way shorter  while some have to wait alot longer.

Even your favourable response after NOS timeline was very short compared to others in this forum.

There is no set timeline with this process.
