Hi all,

I have sent my J1 waiver application to the St. Louis address in the beginning of March. So, my packet should have arrived there almost 6 weeks ago. However, when I login to the DOS website to check my status it says "there is not status information", so I don't even know if they received my documents.

I know that it can take up to 4 weeks before there is a status on the website, and I suspect that the public health emergeny does not help.... Nevertheless I am getting a bit worried now they might not have received my application. Does anybody have a similar timeline and any news about their status?

Thanks!

I have a similar situation. Still DOS site is not showing up receiving status of my documents (past 6 weeks). What about yours? is that updated yet?

Does anyone know what I need to do after a favorable recommendation from DoS?

Does USCIS send me an email?

You don’t need to do anything if you have applied based on no objection. You will receive a letter from DoS and USCIS.  You can be approved within 1-2 weeks. Mine went by really fast within a week. Good luck!

Hi all

Anyone else is experiencing long delay of receiving USCIS approval letter? It has been 27 days from USCIS first notice. I have called USCIS but they give as usual reply- “case is still processing”.

No, it's still the same - no status available.  In a way it makes me feel better that it's not just me, as I was worried I made a mistake. But unfortunately I guess this suggests they are not working at full capacity  due to the pandemic and we will have delays.... Do you know if your check got cleared? I asked my bank and they confirmed, so I know they at least received my documents.

Yeah it makes a bit relieving that it's not just one person experiencing the same situation. I sent money order and did a mistake of not keeping it's number, so no way I could track the transaction:(

let's update over here as anyone of us have their application starts showing up on DOS site.

anyways

Hey all, just checking what the timeline has been like for persons in similar situation as myself. I am a J1 physician who is applying for a waiver via interested government agency ( Delta Region Authority). My application was sent to DRA in January with approval 4 weeks later. My recommendation was mailed off to the DOS on March 4th. Its now been 8 weeks and I have not yet seen an update on their website to suggest that they have received my package from the DRA. I checked the website today and they mentioned an 8 week wait for it to be uploaded, as there is some delay in getting the applications from St Louis to Washington DC. I am just checking what other persons experience is like. Is there a confirmation that persons receive once their application is complete? Im not even sure  when to start counting, and my J1 visa expires June 30th, with no possibility of extending beyond my 30 day grace period. My timeline is below

In this case Will I receive just the letter with final approval?

You will get receipt notice with your case number from USCIS then Approval Notice letter when your case is approved.
