Hi,

Thanks for sharing your timeline. It seems it took 2 weeks from the day you got the favorable recommendation (from DoS) to the day you got the final letter from USCIS. Can you please tell after how many days of the favorable recommendation did you get the letter with the receipt number from USCIS which can be used to check the progress with USCIS?

I'm on the same boat too, got the favorable recommendation from DoS on Jan 23rd, still waiting for the USCIS receipt number. Got a letter a couple of days ago from DoS, which mentioned the favorable recommendation and a copy of which was also sent to USCIS. I assume USCIS needs that letter before starting the work at their end.

I got my DOS letter 2 days after my FR was made. I think that depends on what type of self addressed envelope (overnight, priority or regular post) you have sent to the DOS. DOS sends the FR to the USCIS electronically.

I would like to share my timeline. I applied waiver with NOS from my home country. Thanks everyone here for sharing their timelines and answering questions, it was very helpful!

I will give you more updates on USCIS side.

I received a letter from USCIS that my case was sent to another USCIS office on Jan 7th and haven't received the approval yet. I'm worried because all the cases I've seen had approval within a month of the favorable recommendation. I'm wondering if there is someone else who had similar timeline with me?

Don't worry, they will do it. I was also very worried last year when after 3 weeks, I did not get any approval from them and I noticed most people with receipt ID accepted the same day as mine were approved.

Mine was accepted on November 27th and was finally approved December 23.

I actually called them on December 20, which was a Friday when I was really disturbed. And the guy I spoke with said, because cases were accepted the same day does not mean they will be approved the same day. The following Monday 23rd, it was approved and I got the approval notice on December 29th.

Thanks for sharing this, I'm very panicked. I'm hoping that I would have a similar experience with yours!

Hi,

Today I got the letter from USCIS with the receipt number. The case status website shows the message "Case Was Received At Another USCIS Office. On January 29, 2020, we received your Form I-612, Application for Waiver of the Foreign Residence Requirement".  Is that normal? Is I-612 relevant for no-objection cases?

Hey,

I received my USCIS receipt letter today as well. I see the same status when I check online.

I think it is normal based on the previous posts in this forum. I-612 has been filed by the DoS on our behalf. We just have to wait now!

I got the same letter around Jan 13th. They said they sent my case to a different USCIS office on Jan 7th and still waiting for the approval...
