A couple of the yellow ones will be ready at 10 weeks, that's full size. You can keep them longer but after that point they are eating lots and it's not cost effective.

That is the plan for 2 of them. The other 2 yellows (hard to tell) are a different breed and they are big egg layers. So they are keepers.

I'm so sorry. I've been so busy I didn't see this. 

I do not do mushrooms. I couldn't tell you one from the other only that I won't eat em

 

 

I found this video on FB, Jack my black lab grew up with our chickens. i'm happy we didn't have a rooster as the 100lb lad already thinks he's just 6 ponds like Daisy my mini doxy.

I understand completely.....after 3 live opossums babies and three dead....plus two trips to the animal rehabilitation center....and my wonderful husband begging in a panicked voice about the mushrooms “please Janet, don’t make me eat that, please”. I gave up on my idea of being a “living off the land forager” and gave the mushrooms to my friend (who loves them).

That's funny.

I'm a very picky eater. Mushrooms, onions, cilantro, veggies (almost all I don't eat) the list is long.

 

I did get my garden planted. Tomatoes, peppers, are for the kids I don't eat them unless cooked to death. Green beans, wax beans, peas, cucumbers ( i eat them), zucchini (i do eat that in a chocolate zucchini bread) and squash for the husband. I also spread some extra seeds around the chicken coop for the girls to enjoy.

Two construction workers always lunched together.  One would open his lunchpail and peer in expectantly, but his face would always fall and he'd mutter "Nertz!  Peanut butter again!"

 

This went on for months.  Finally, his buddy asked him, "Well, if you're so sick of peanut butter, why don't you ask your wife to make you something different for a change?"

 

"Oh, I'm not married," said the first guy.  "I make these every morning at home myself!"

That is how I feel most days. I don't know what to make so it's the same old thing. 

 

 

I sold 8 ducks today. Need to coordinate when she will pick them up. She has a 2 1/2 hour drive to get them so I gave her a deal. If I drove to meet her it would cost gas money anyway so why not give her a deal. 

 

So far out of all my ducks roughly 30 because well I lost track. I have 12 males, 10 are too young to tell right now so bad male to female ratio. Selling some off helps the flock and the HIllbilly's pocket. They are eating about 50lbs  of food in less than a week. Males are big pigs if you're not breeding them not good to keep around.
