A NOA is a notification of action and they issue a NOA1 when your file is complete and accurate. Yours supposedly was not correct hence the reason for the return and no NOA issued. Fix the error and return it back and you may not lose as much time as you quoted. This is a minor setback.

Thank you! Best news I’ve had in days. Fingers crossed xx

So I sent my application in on 2/28/19. Got text 4/6/19. If people want to know if they have mail use the usps inform app. Today it’s showing the NOA1 is being delivered. Good luck to everyone else.

You are now officially on your way to a visa. Sit back and buckle up. This is not for the faint of heart. Further down you'll be asking questions and many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Thanks for the help!
My fiance called and he was very kind. I told him that he had no problems because they have many ways of seeing the exact date, that he does not worry, that everything is going well and that the officer needs some information will warn him. But not as much as there is no need to worry.

Hope for July, plan for Sept and beyond.

Ocupate de educarte más en el proceso, recopilar la información y formularios que necesitarán para la etapa consular, colmense de paciencia, y nutran su relación.

Welcome to the hunger games, I mean the waiting games.

May the odds be ever in your favor

NOA2 can take between 6-8 months. I will advise you to stay busy, visit if you can your fiancee. Months go fast, but this wait will be hard.

People from July2018 are still waiting to be approved.   ✌🏻

For those who have just filed the thread has been created for your needs and to be with others experiencing different aspects of this journey. This is a place to ask questions and to share experiences. All are here to learn together. Good luck because this is a long process currently running 6-8 months from filing date for your NOA2 approval.

Hello Greenbaum,

Thank you  for your help  in these long journey.   I have a question.
I am in process of filling out the Packet 3 checklist.
Q1: Do we put check marks there where we will be providing the documents?

Q2: Letter "To intent to marry" supposed to be within 30 days of interview. I do have it now. But how do i know that my interview will be within 30 days?

Q3: If something that doesn't apply to me , such as military record do I leave it blank or do put as N/A

Q4:  I was divorced before, so i do have Divorce certificates, but I don't have marriage certificates in originals ( just copies) , as they taken away when u get divorced.  what should I do in that checkbox.

Your responds will be greatly appreciated.

It's in possible for me to know every embassy and what their requirements but I have worked to try and get as much information for you to use from others who have gone before. Here is that information. Read through it and I am sure all you questions will be answered.

You can't hurry it along at all. You have to wait for P3 which takes 2-4 weeks from Ready. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterwards.

Packet 3: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf  And Packet 4 for reference also: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/03/Packet4-MTL.pdf

For all things dealing with the US Consulate in Canada head on over to the sub-forum for Canada where they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

Birth Certificate and Police Certificate information

Here is some additional information. As was stated in the Canadian sub-forum there is an "emergency order" application in Ontario. You need the birth cert that is CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH REGISTRATION that has the parents name. You don't want the "parental cert" that is a wallet sized one with parents names but no place of birth, doctors who attended birth etc. The parental one is for parents travelling with kids to prove custody in an easy to use/travel with format. Hope this clears up your question. CALL the registrar and tell them you need to do an emergency application otherwise you will be waiting 15+ weeks. Absolutely the long form is a required LIVE document needed at the interview or you'll get rejected.  I hope this info is helpful and best of luck.
