what's crazy is that we simultaneously see Jan/Feb/Mar approvals.

I really cannot see a reason for why would someone with Mar 14 NOA1 get approved and then have another person with Jan 9th date receive approval the same day while none of them had RFEs.

It's not even about countries...the same country can have many months of variation and as long as the documentation is provided and there is no RFE, I really cannot figure out how these guys work and manage those deadlines.

The only guess I have is that they don't give a damn and cases received from Mar or November 2018 get just mixed up on/at their workspace and they don't keep them orderly by the time it was submitted.

I know it really sucks, but the best way to get through this is to lower your expectations and try not to compare your timeline to anyone else's. Don't forget that the people here on Visa Journey represent a tiny percentage of all the petitions the CSC has to work through! When someone gets to your file you'll hear from them. Stay busy, talk a lot with your fiancé about non-visa stuff, don't forget to hang out with your friends, take up a new hobby, go to a sporting event, and your time will come! Good luck

Explanation why is it taking so long.

I just making friends with the idea that I might have to wait another 4-6 weeks if the January guys are just seeing better approval rates...

this is all good info to share, thanks!

I recently visited UAE, Saudi Arabia and right now writing from Turkey. All business trips, but my background check must be the one holding this up.

I submitted a global entry renewal 2 months ago and the background check clearance still didn't come through there....so I'm pretty sure it's all due to my crazy traveling schedule and those places I entered.

@Zoltan K

My theory is that the USCIS officers are assigned a stack of applications based on certain factors (age of application, number of pages, complexity, experience of the officer, etc) and that background checks and other things that need to be verified slow down some processes, and applications that are "clean" go through quickly.

I also have a theory that people who are positive, supportive, helpful, kind to people, or are just naturally lucky have their applications approved faster and that's why we're seeing so many VJ approvals.  :)

Your point was great until the last paragraph. I think that is a rude statement to make to those still waiting. It has nothing to do with being kind, nice or helpful. So use ur words appropriately!!!!!!!!!!!

When I called in April, I was told my last update was Feb 2019, that I was going thru background check but my records are clean bc I did a background check Sept 2018 so it is not even been a year. I called again this May and was told that I am in line and they are working on it.

I do not think it has to do with country tho bc I see people from my country getting theirs. Its maybe LUCK!

Feb filers lets pray and be positive this is our MONTH, we still have 10 more days in this month!

A colleague was told that the office was working on it, and after 3 days it was approved, he discovered it by writing to USCIS, because none of the platforms are updated yet. In your case I would call just to know if there is any news, maybe I have a surprise.

I appreciate your response and I thank you for the initial compliment.   My intent wasn't to be rude.

I believe in the "law of attraction" and it makes me happy to see people who are in the exact same situation that I am in be supportive and helpful to others, with no expectations, and be rewarded  by the universe with positive things happening to them.

No offense intended.  I hope your approval goes through quickly so you can be with the person whom you love.

They were expressing their viewpoint  and not attacking you personally.  Everyone on VJ is allowed to voice an opinion. You may counter their observation with your own opinion but yours is not tell them they can't add their opinion.  If you have a problem with a member you can take it up with a monitor.

English is used in all the forums unless you are in your country's forum where English or your native language can be used. Thats a part of VJ TOS. Thankyou.
