I've done a little research for your consulate. Here is what I have found. Immigrant visas to the United States are processed for citizens and residents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan at the Consulate General in Almaty.

Further information can be found here: https://kz.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visas/

If you get a P3 letter from the consulate could you share a copy with me. I will use it to help others who come behind you. Thanks.

Thanks for looking that up for me (us). And Yes, if I get a P3 i will definitely share with you. What's a P3 btw?

Packet 3 (P3) is used officially by embassy's to communicate to the beneficiary the required steps and documents to complete the interview.  The P3 letters can be either snail mailed, emailed or found on the website for your embassy. Here are two examples, one for Canada https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf  Another for Thailand's website found here: https://th.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/packets/

Packet 3 is the "Instruction Package" For standard processing consulate's, this is what the embassy sends out when it receives the petition from NVC. Some embassy's require you return packet 3 with DS-160 Part II to request your interview (embassy schedules your interview and then sends you P4*) to be scheduled where others only require you to follow the instructions which includes scheduling your own interview.

If your embassy uses the Packet 4 (P4) is the "Appointment Package" This is the packet that has the interview appointment and the final checklist of what to bring to the interview. Many embassy's only will send you Packet 3 for those who will schedule their own interviews.

Some Embassy's will send you a letter/email that directs you to their website for instructions and do not send a P3 to you as it is located on their website for your use.

*each embassy can be different when using either the P3 or P4 steps.

I've went through a 2 months away period and it was brutal on both of us...now it's only 5 weeks away, 2 weeks together then 3 weeks away and 2 weeks together again :)

you lucky to manage spend 6 weeks together with your fiancee :)

Yeah it’s been the hardest 64 days of my entire life.. 4 days to go .. eeek. Wouldn’t be so tough if my family weren’t already heading to the states tomorrow and I’m still sat here. Yes I am super lucky I know. I was determined.. primarily because his work is crazy busy for the starts of May so we won’t get quality time ... damn Florida wedding season 😂🤣 xxxxx

Greenbaum's Tips:

Here is a tool to see others from your country and see where they are in the process especially those who are near your submit dates.

Go to the top blue ribbon and select "portals" (you can select your flag from your profile) and then along the left column scroll down to the last section titled "VJ (your country name) timelines. Select K-1 and out populates a chart with all those from your country and you can then see where you are in comparison to others.

The NOA2 takes about 5.5 to 7 months. You're a ways away.

Are the people getting their NOA2s from January and now February just outliers or has the process sped up significantly? I'm also wondering if there is some factor, like the beneficiary's country, that influences this or if this is just the result of luck.

The process has sped up significantly since the extreme slow period from mid-2017 to mid-2018. If you look on Igor's list, almost half of Jan 2019 filer timelines have a NOA2 date entered, for November 2018 the percentage is in line with July 2018, and December is pretty close to the 'done except for RFEs and extremely slow outliers' at this point to. However, the official timelines from USCIS are still 5.5. to 7 months.

For the most part, there's not much correlation between beneficiary's country and processing time at the petition stage, though it's hard to tell because almost no country other than the Philippines has a decent number of timelines here for any given month. There's weak evidence that petitions from high fraud and high security risk countries may be slower (Russia seems pretty normal, btw, until you get to the random timeline generator that's the Moscow embassy), but there's no evidence petitions from, say, Canada are faster.

I wonder if this could be interpreted as people not updating their timelines. Thanks for the reply Dave👍

I agree for everyone to stay positive.  The official estimates may say 5.5 to 7 months for a NOA2 but ours was approved in 78 days.  There is no guarantee of a fast approval but the current trend is in that direction.

I'm hoping for more February submission approvals yet this month. May should be great for approvals!
