Same here, the people here at VJ have helped us retain some semblance of sanity during this trying time. I hate to have seen how we would have been without the all the support and info we've received here. I pray for a speedy journey for us all.

Has anyone been keeping track of all the people who got their NOA2 in the mail without ever seeing a change in status on the website? Maybe many of us ::Please GOD:: have already been approved and by the time we find out about it, it will be well on its way to the NVC.

I wonder how many have already seen this happen in recent history...

Devine Mercy,

Just to add another data point. I called USCIS to check on the status of my I-130 (using the famous RFE excuse) last Wednesday. They looked into my case, said everything looked ok... wait some more, working on the April 18th cases, bla bla bla. The thing is that my call didn't trigger a touch on their system. My theory? There is a bug in their system. For whatever reason some cases do get updated when someone opens the file, for some other cases (like mine) it just simply doesn't move.

As I mentioned previously, I applied for US Citizenship last year. My case didn't move! Even after the oath ceremony and with my passport in hand, their system still read "Case Received and Pending". So, I guess we'll have to start doing more frequent trips to the mail box.

I-130, I-129F

June, 07: Sent I-130, CSC

July, 07: Sent I-129F, CSC

March,08: I-130, I-129F Approved

Sept,08: Interview in Bogota, Approved

AOS

Oct, 08: AOS and EAD docs. mailed to Chicago

Oct, 08: NOA1

Nov, 08: Biometrics

Mar, 09: AOS Interview. Approved

Apr, 09: GC Received.

I did the same out of curiousity on Nov.7... "touch" showed up next day. The touch was only because I called and they looked up my case (in which I was told it has not been assigned to anyone yet..but I-130 & I-129F were together). Soooooooooo.. I don't think using RFE trick helps in expediting approval, but maybe to get a little more info on your case. Especially if you are close to or past 180 days. It was dissappointing to find that my case was not assigned yet..but maybe this week it will be and be approved..God willing.

Our case did not even post to the site. I got NOA2 before it even showed status. ( I was seeing this: "case not found in system ... " )

The moral of my story: Stick with someone who matches your own culture.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )

Anyone has the NVC number? I'd like to call them... maybe that helps.

Torito,

calling or not calling NVC will not make a difference at this point. Once they get it, it will be put in there system and sent on when they are ready (hopefully a couple of days at most). Calling them will not help them get it any faster or send it out any sooner. Still, others after your NOA2 have already made it to NVC, so certainly worth calling to see if you have been received/forwarded on.

They told me today that they are working on files from November 14 and to pretty much expect an exact 6 month wait from the day they received it, not the receipt date.My priority date is June 25th so my priority date is December 25th and I should expect things to be adjudcated pretty close to what they are saying on the visa journey timeline and the websites and NOT TO EXPECT THINGS ANY EARLIER because of the holiday. There will be big delays due to caseloads and the holidays and backlogs and to not expect things any faster than 6 months. The lady at USCIS really was nice and she looked pretty thoroughly at my stuff and she told me just to expect the wait.

She also told me how things go to NVC. She said everything goes into a crate and sits there until the crate is full and then it goes to NVC.
