Hi,

My online status changed to pending after a touch on August 10. I got the notice that they were transferring from MSC back in early June. Don't know what happened, was it lost at CSC all this time, delayed in being sent to CSC, or just not updated, but it took a lot longer that what most others in this thread have gotten. I hope this doesn't slow me down too much.

I have been away for awhile (was visiting my wife and did not feel like fretting about the visa process for that time), but I PM'ed G&A with this update to the chart.

Welcome back to VJ Urge to Race. I hope you had a fantastic trip.

Thanks!

HI everybody!

I need to say two things: First: i am going crazy with this process!

Second: Today, my dear husband, called to USCIS, because he was anxious for notice. Look at the message that he sent me:

" i don´t think you are going to be in USA before chistmas. Because in July they change the system...."

WHAT THE HELL the representative tried to tell to him? I was thinking just the fees are different now!

I was excepting my interview for end of November! I want to pass the Christmas with my husband!

ANYONE CAN MAKE A COMENT?

Hello Nanda,

There are no new processes that I know of. I-130s and K3s have been sent to VSC and CSC since ealier this year. The K3 process was a 9 month average when I researched it last winter. Starting in March there has been a backlog slowing down the petition ajudications. The backlog seems to be increasing.

If you do not have patience, then the visa process will teach you how to have more patience. There is not much you can do to speed up the process except pray and hope.

Welcome to VJ.

It is a backlog of petitions and not a change in process (only change in fees) that is making the wait longer.

Because of the change in fees everyone tried to beat the deadline and sent in their petitions around the same time, too many for the CSC to handle and made it come to a standstill a few weeks ago (VSC seems to be handling things fine and are approving some from June). CSC now appear to be processing cases from early-mid March (if you look at the March Filers thread) and, as my petition is early April I do not expect to see movement on mine for another month or so.

I set (what I believe to be) a realistic date of February to be with my husband but still have a little glimmer of hope that I might be there for Xmas.

I think most people, myself included, thought that the 6 month CSC processing time was the beginning to the end of the process... it wasn't until I found this site that I understood the process would take about 10 months in total. Maybe I read it wrong at the time, but I find the USCIS website misleading on the total time of the process.

Welcome to the group Nanda. I will add you to the tracking table. My estimate is that you will get the 129F approval by Dec 1. Then it is a matter of the time it takes to go to NVC then to the consulate to start processing paperwork.

Actually there was a slight change in procedures that accompanied the fee change. Now the I129F is sent along with the I130 and both are direct filed to either VSC or CSC (no more sending the I130 to TSC or NSC and the I129F to Chicago). What this means is that more petitions will end up at VSC than under the previous procedures. Previously, all NSC and TSC I130s went to CSC. If you look at the USCIS website, some states that would have sent to NSC and TSC are now instructed to send the petitions to VSC.

Does this mean anything? For us, no because CSC is so backlogged now and they got deluged at the end of July with even more. Down the road, filers will have less petitions to compete with at CSC and the VSC will be handling more petitions, which in theory should mean a better balance in wait times between the 2 instead of the 3-4 month difference. In practice, we have to wait and see how it pans out, or if they decide to change all of this before we see any impact.

Cheers! and welcome to VJ Nanda and axp.

Hello!

That´s me again!

I really want to know what can I do...until i am waiting for Noa-2 of the both forms.

I know about my american husband : he can start the aff.

And me? Can i do my medical examination...or i need to wait for some package?

It's a little too early to be thinking about the medical, you cannot go for that until you receive the packet requiring you to do so. That will be many months away.

If you feel you must do something to keep you busy, a couple of things you might work on:-

* Any vaccinations you will require - Getting medical records before hand is one less thing to worry about later on!

Even if you don't require them/require proof of having them for the K3, you will need them for adjusting status. Plus, if you have asked for consular processing, you never know if the CR1/IR1 will be at the embassy before your K3 interview (in this case, you can ask to have the IR1/CR1 interview on the date of your K3 interview).

* Depending on how long your country's police certificate is valid for, you could apply for it now. You may want to check the validy though, because there is no point asking for one now and finding it has expired before you receive your final interview.

* You can also start putting together a packet of evidence of your relationship, photos, proof of visits, emails, phone records, marriage certificate etc etc

I started working out my evidence early, just to take my mind off things... Knowing that I have a nice folder ready for when the time comes, is quite comforting :)
