it's because the K1 filing fee is $455 (old) and the K3 filing fee was ($170) , I-130 ($190)... the new fees are that the K1 stays the same at $455, while the I-130 is $355... so we still lose out to K-1 as well as the Temporary Workers.. crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif nothing has changed and will change for us.. We are the ones that are doing it "by the book".. K1 is uncertain because they can just divorce quickly and run away and still stay in the US... Temporary workers aren't permanent.. I don't get what the government is trying to do.. the government is a big meanie ....... booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

we are still "WORTH LESS" to the USCIS than those with K1 , and those especially of Temporary Workers (do they need to have time spent looking at their marriage certificate, and marriage history/work history? background checks are the same I would think... also, we have to fill out all those extra forms, so it slows us down even more)... as long as the company can support them, they can be approved very fast.. which would you rather have.. someone that can be approved in a couple of hours (just guessing, Temporary Workers), to someone that takes a couple of months to investigate on (us, K3 and I-130 people)...

Currently, with the new fees:

I-129 (Temporary Workers ) -- $320 + supplemental fees + fraud prevention fees

I-129F (K1) -- $455

I-129F (K3) -- $0

I-130 (CR1/IR) -- $355

I-130 may is a little more expensive than I-129, but they don't need as many "checks" and fill out as many forms as I-130, so overall I-130 costs MORE to USCIS to process (less revenue for them per person).. they will be able to process the H1, H2B visas faster than us.. the I-129 Temporary so we are still at the bottom of the pile =( crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif which will you rather have if you were USCIS? (someone that processes in 1 day, or process in 1 month time?) I don't have exact times for each, just using a hypothetical example..

I-130 STAGE 1 : 533 days - 1 year 6 months (4/16/2007 to 9/22/2008)

DOS call to receive I-601 (Waiver of Grounds for Inadmissibility - basically denial) from Guangzhou : 6/24/2009

REMOVAL OF I-601 due to my letters to the USCIS Director, Michael Aytes: 6/29/2009

The new K1 fee is $455, not the old. The I129F before today, July 30, 2007, had one fee regardless of which purpose you filed it: $170. K1 applicants when from $170 to $455, K3 applicants went from $190 to $355 on the I130 and from $170 to $0 on the 129F.

Now with the new fees, would it be better,

I read somewhere (in this forum or in USCIS) that the increase is to hire more staff, and adopt new system, I hope so.

But if this increase will do any good, there will be the following questions:

- Would the process be faster?

- Would the process be less hassle? maybe fill the form online and upload the photos [like the USCIS DV program]?

- Will it include the cases that are in the queue with the old fee (like us)?

- When this speed will pick up, now or in few months till they train the new staff, and implement the new system (and this may cause some errors and more delay]

I hope and pray to The God we have get the positive answer to all of the above.

But from history we see that the process with USCIS (INS before) goes from slow to slower, never went up, perhaps we should teach our kids or future kids to file for their I-130 & I-129 from now, by the time they grow up they are going to get they first NOA1

A of G&A

Congrats to G&A and Ahmadgwen4evr... Now a days, any movement/progress (no matter how big or small) with your petition is a great news. It atleast assures you that something is happening with your petitions at USCIS... As G&A previously mentioned, it was getting lil depressing around here.

Anyhow, I am happy for u guys and good luck for a speedy approval.

Tc and regards
