i am not sure you can check the I-129F on USCIS' site. I recall seeing a few posts with the same issue.

I think I will do the same thing as you are doing. I think it is kind of ridiculous to wait so long to get the NOA1 before submitting the 129F. Can you tell me what specific documents you will be sending. I am assuming you are sending the tracking letter, the status letter from USCIS & the print out of the check. Let me know if you are sending anything else.

-Printout from USPS.com showing the package has been received by USCIS in Nebraska Center.

-Printout of my check back and front in one page

-Printout of my case status from USCIS.gov

I was also thinking to send a copy of my I-130 form and printout of my online bank statement, but G & A recommended not to, and it does make sense to me. It’s too much paper, I think I am paranoid about it

I hope/wish and pray to God for it to work ... ..it's being a long ride, a roller coaster kind of ride, I haven’t seen my wife for almost 2 years, just finished my citizenship process and now trying to finish this,

Hi G&A,

He already has six passport photos with him in Nigeria. The problem is he can't mail it because the post office and FedEx are both closed. The streets of Lagos are deserted, no flow of traffic because there is a shortage of gasoline, so no one can take their car to work. They either have to walk or take one of the few taxis that are running, which by the way are higher priced now. There are no buses running, everything is at a standstill until the Nigerian government gives in to the Labor Union's demands. Right now, he has not had electricity in his house for over seven days and the cafe's that he uses are all closed, so no computers or printers, or anything. He can't even call me because he can't charge the battery on his phone because there is no electricity. We are unable to communicate with each other at all right now. So until the strike is over, there is nothing either of us can do except to wait. I can't file until I have that photo.

Have faith. Sending in the I-129F with the information provided has worked for other people. They have also started taking packets with I-130 and I-129F sent together.

Remember to include that you have not received the NOA1 in your intent letter and list what you are sending for proof that the I-130 was received.

Arrg! My I-129F check was finally cashed yesterday so I got the case number off the back (MSC followed by 10 digits) but when I tried to check my case status online today I got this messge:

This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system

So does that mean they just haven't entered it in the system yet, or would the number be wrong? I thought some people here had found the number printed on the back of their check was not actually the correct case number?

both edp33 and I had the issue where our case number was off by one digit from that printed on the back of the check. The last digit on mine was smudged so I was really guessing at the last digit anyways. edp33's might just have been a typo, don't remember. Catou1181 also couldn't use the check's case number. You can call the CS line and they can give you the case number over the phone because you should be in the system.. or you can wait for the snail mail.

I got my snail mail copy the same day as the check image was available, so I didn't have to really wait.

I think after reading it a couple of times.. that it might be that CSC or VSC receive your I-129f that was forwarded from Chicago?? If so, can you please update my X'fer date and location?

Sorry I haven't come on visa journey for a few days now. I had a death in my family. I am just now coming online to catch up on this site. Yes, the good news about the strike in Nigeria is that it ended this past Saturday. My husband will be mailing me his passport photo this Friday, just to give them time to adjust their gasoline prices and get a supply of gasoline in his area. Thank God! So things are starting to look up again. Of course, I will have to wait forever for it to make it to my mailbox, but at least it will be on its way.

By the way, is it unusual that my case has not been touched since June 10 on the I-130? A few people here seem to be moving right along. Should I give USCIS a call?

As far as I know, I think NOT getting any touches on your I-130, since your last NOA1 online status update , is at all unusual (esp looking at both of your dates). Mine is 06/01/07 and I dont think I have had any touch on my I-130 and considering the fact that my app is at CSC, apparently the busiest of all, it doesn't surprise me at all. Now, I know yours is probably at NSC and u may wanna follow up with someo other VJ members who also filed at NSC. May give you more insights. But if you 'd like then you can also call USCIS to see what they have to say in regards with this.

It may help near date applicants to anticipate/track their cases. Hi everyone,

Even though I filed in mid-April, I haven't received any touches for my I-130 yet.. I got a lot of touches (due to the transferring to CSC) of my I-129F though.. latest update for I-130 was 4/27/07, and latest update for I-129F was 6/26/2007.. I'm seeing from other timelines an estimate of 3 months time from the time they transfer to CSC (or VSC) of your I-129F..

Mine would be :

I-130 (4 months time avg) ==>

4/27 + 4 months = 8/27/07 (estimate)

I-129F (3 months from "transfer received", not "transfer sent to another office") ==>

6/26 + 3 months = 9/26/2007 (estimate)

that's how I figure the timelines will be.. In the meantime, just find something to keep you busy with... I use Skype to call my wife everyday and also try to use webcam if I have the time.. so I can still see her, just can't be with her yet.. I'm not promoting Skype or anything.. just that you can still see each other and talk

Thanks for your suggestions and input. Yes, finally, we will be moving forward once again. Actually, I sent my case originally to NSC as this was the service center for my state of residence, but it was transferred (as I think others who have filed at NSC) to CSC and that is where my case has been sitting ever since. They received my case on June 7, cashed my check on June 8, and I received my NOA1 on June 12. According to the USCIS website, they have not touched my case since June 10, so apparently I am sitting in a pile somewhere. Do you know the phone number for CSCto inquire?

Don't keep chasing after the visa everyday... just give yourself an estimate time as to when it will arrive.. seeing as how I-130 average 4 months time and I-129F average 3 months.. If by that time something is wrong, then you can call up.. I just put an estimate on my signature to do that.. I know that we want to see our other beloved ones real soon, but chasing after them everyday won't help much.. just use a webcam to see each other for now and just keep busy.. don't worry... your visa will get approved soon enough...

Its not unusual at all. They received your case at CSC, sent you the NOA1 and the touches after that were just it winding its way through from receipting to where petitions go to wait to be adjudicated. It will take awhile. Look at some timelines, I130 sit for weeks/months without touches. Mine was last touched on May 10 (receipted on May 8). Its normal, depressing maybe but normal. I know some people like RocksAnne got a superfast approval, but that is the exception, not the rule

Deb got her NOA1, which means that NSC forwarded it to CSC. NSC does not receipt I130s or I129Fs. She is now at the hurry up and wait stage like so many of us.
