Right, I wouldn't believe anything USCIS says about dates, timelines, etc.

Woohoo!!!!!! Just FYI guys my I-130 was finally approved today!!!!!!!!:dance::dance:

I just got an email from USCIS about the approval. I just checked their website and sure enough, both my I130 and I129F was touched today.

Only the I130 was approved though. The I129F was just touched. Hopefully, it is coming soon too.

Here's to hoping all of us May & June Filers get all our approvals soon!

Congrats!!!! You might even get both NOA2s in the mail. That is what happened to us. Good Luck!

I just got off the phone with USCIS again. She said they were processing I130 cases dated 6/18/07.....FYI...

I do not beleive anything USCIS says...they advised me to comint visa fraud once by entering the USA on my Canadian passport, getting married and then staying there. They are turkies :P

Urge whats up with your consulate??? How long do they typically take to schedule interviews?

Congratulations Noel!!! :thumbs::dance::dance:

I am still waiting on them to resume my case after RFE. I called yesterday and I was told that my RFE had not been entered into the system yet and to call back next week if I don't receive an email first about them resuming our case. I informed her that I received the RFE in the mail on Dec. 26 and sent what they wanted back on Dec. 26. My RFE was delivered to their RFE mailroom Dec. 27 and gave her the name of the person who received it. She said they probably got a lot of RFE's in the mail during that period and because of the holiday's everything is a bit slower, but should pick up now. So if I nothing from them by next Thursday, I will call again. Just wanted to update everyone.

Yay Deb sounds like you're really on your way now!!

For all of you who are sad about your petitions being stapled together.. count your blessings.. they approved my I130 eons ago and threw out my I129F because there was no longer a pending I130. I'm being forced into taking a CR1 although the USCIS website shows my I129F as "pending" hahahaha.

Things with the NVC are going slow. My hubby sent his info to me 3 weeks ago and I still didn't get it and it's all original documents (the NVC requires that for appointment posts on a CR1). From what I can tell with researching in VJ CR1's thru lagos never get approved the first time. All but one so far has gone into AP for at least 6 months. I'm hoping to have the case finalized at the NVC around March... Maybe an interview by Dec or Jan 2009.... AP till June 2009 and hopefully he'll be here by the end of June 2009. How's that for slow?

Someone from Ghana was denied a CR1 pending a DNA test on their american born child (husband is Ghanian, wife is US born Citizen.. child belongs to them both). Even though it is a spousal visa and the child is already american with a birth certificate to prove it, they have to provide both mother and father's dna proof that they are BOTH the true parents. My husband and I are planning on going ahead and getting the DNA test before hand so they cant put us into AP just for that.

Good luck to you all. I'm sure the majority of you all will have your spouses home in your arms by the end of the summer. I hope to be able to say the same thing this time next year about myself.

LOL, Kathryn, slowly but surely I suppose. Still stuck in the oblivion we all know as USCIS hell. I wish they would get it together and get my information into the computer and give the darn RFE to the adjudicator so I can leave the "dark hole", lol. Yes, I know...patience, Deb, patience, lol. That is one virtue I am beginning to dislike at this point

I am so sorry that you have had to put your married life on hold yet another year for stupidity. Seems to me that was USCIS's mistake and not yours and why are they making you pay for their mistake? For that reason, I think they should refund the money you spent on the I-129. Hahahaha...like that will ever happen, lol. Just a thought...

I already tried to get my money back. I said you took my money and threw my petition in the trash. I'm a single mother, thanks to you. I really need that money. They coldly said, no refunds. At least I'm out of the USCIS for now. I don't envy you for that.

I used to love this country. I used to get all teary eyed reading about the immigrants seeing the statue of liberty. The plaque on the statue says "...Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" What a crock of sh*t.

Still waiting on Dept of State. I believe our I-130 and I129F will be the first to reach USEM because they sent me a checklist for our CR1. Apparently the website they directed us to for all the info to be sent did not clarify which police clearance was needed. (We sent local police clearance) They needed National (NBI which is FBI for us in the states) So after my wife mailed the copies we needed I forwarded it over to the Dept of State. They sent my a letter telling me that within a week our other petition would be on its way to the Embassy. *shrugs* I couldn't have guessed this would happen if I tried:P Just an update since I've been immensely quiet with the holidays and school and such. :)

Congrats on your approval, Noel!!

- SoCalWaiter.... MY I-130 is from June 18th!!! So I should be able to tell you very shortly if they are indeed working on those or just playing with our nerves. At least, for now, there haven't been any touches on my case.

Juan Carlos.

Hello Juan Carlos,

They could be playing around..but the processing time on the website says June 18th. This was supposedly posted on Dec14th. Which means, ours should have been done by now. I guess none were working between Dec14th and today..So hoping any day now..

USEM? They are very vague about which police reports are needed. It varies from country to country. I hope you get them all into the NVC very soon, you have been processing the CR1 much longer than I have, I can't believe you're still waiting for your case to be completed! What other petition will be on its way to the embassy? You're I129F??? Good luck davejaz, my prayers are with u.

G&A, usually, they schedule interviews within 2 weeks of receiving, but we got snagged in the holiday slowdown. Apparently, they are short staffed from 19Dec to 6Jan or there abouts every year. Things get really backed up and takes a while into Jan to resolve that backlog. They told us there is not chance of them picking up scheduling until next week, and to expect to receive that interview letter by the end of this month.

Its frustrating, knowing if we had gotten in a month earlier, we would have been done in October/November. If we had gotten out of NVC a week earlier, we would have been scheduled for an interview already, just after the holidays. But, now we have hopes of a Feb or March interview. Hopefully, we will survive this excruciating wait and it won't drag on much longer.

Urge whats up with your consulate??? How long do they typically take to schedule interviews?

Kathryn,

Sorry to hear about your super long wait pending. I hope things beat your projected timeline by months. I would go nuts.

Congratulations Noel!!! :thumbs::dance::dance:

Deb
