I am not sure if it is hand written on your check but it was computer generated on mine. It was a whole paragraph printed on the back of the check. But i could still see that there could have been some human error involved if humans are part of the process for generating Case #'s and transferring them to the printing device.

 Congratulations!

Did it indicate you had any touches on your case before you saw that you were approved? According to the USCIS website, my case has not been touched since June 10, 2007. I really really hope for a quick approval like this. This is the better visa also. I am having a delay on filing my K-3 because Nigeria is on an indefinite strike because of rising gasoline prices. They have closed schools, airports, banks, and post offices because there is no movement of traffic. I need a passport photo from my husband and now he can't send it because of this strike and it is unknown how long this strike will go on. Until it ends, I can't file the K-3. It gives me hope that maybe it won't matter that I can't file the K-3 if you got approved so quickly. All I can do is pray!

I would really appreciate if you could answer my question above.

Thanks so much,

Deb

Deb, sorry to hear that you are affected by the strike in Nigeria. One idea is for him to take a photo and send it to you and you can re-size appropriately and print passport style. of course, he has to meet all the specs (no shadows, hi res, color, white background, ...)

or maybe he can have a passport photo taken and ask for a digital version (a lot of the passport photo equipment is digital these days) or maybe even scan it with a good scanner.

good luck

Hi G&A,

He already has six passport photos with him in Nigeria. The problem is he can't mail it because the post office and FedEx are both closed. The streets of Lagos are deserted, no flow of traffic because there is a shortage of gasoline, so no one can take their car to work. They either have to walk or take one of the few taxis that are running, which by the way are higher priced now. There are no buses running, everything is at a standstill until the Nigerian government gives in to the Labor Union's demands. Right now, he has not had electricity in his house for over seven days and the cafe's that he uses are all closed, so no computers or printers, or anything. He can't even call me because he can't charge the battery on his phone because there is no electricity. We are unable to communicate with each other at all right now. So until the strike is over, there is nothing either of us can do except to wait. I can't file until I have that photo. :crying:

Thanks for your suggests anyway,

Deb

Lol! Not really

I tried calling, but says that I can't call USCIS from my area when I try calling. My husband will try calling tomorrow as he'll be off work ;)

Im trying to be patient about the immigration process because, I guess frankly weather we want to be patient or not, it's not really a choice we have. Most of my patience is concentrated on not being with my husband, sometimes the frustration of the visa process shows its colors :P

Ok I have good news and bad news.

G&A you sent your I-130 right after me.. my NOA1 came today WOOOO HOOOO you should be getting yours SOON!

Bad news..

They misspelled my name. Not just a little inverted letter, it actually changes the name. :o So I called the USCIS and spoke to someone there. They said the correction will become effective as of July 21st URGH! So I asked her if she thought I should send the I-129F with a copy of the incorrect NOA with a note attached explaining the situation. She said only if I do send a note, otherwise it could cause problems.

Worse case scenario, they will screw up the whole thing.

Probable case, they will make me send them the new correct NOA when it comes and the process will be slowed down from there.

Best case, they'll accept my note and things will move forward.

What would ya'll do? I'd like to send out the I-129F tomorrow.

btw G&A I updated my timeline and signature.

DEB:

I totally feel for you!! Today I tried calling my hubby, it was the craziest thing.. first someone who didn't sound nigerian answered and a second later it was disconnected and rang again, then a lady answered in german, it was disconnected and started ringing again and some Nigerian guy answered in Yoruba. (yes I only dialed once). I called him again and he answered. I was hysterical, I asked him if he was Lanre of Nigeria or of China. He was confused. I talked to him for a whole two seconds when the phone died on him. He calls it the nigerian syndrome.

Some areas are worse with power than others. We're not doing too bad but the fuel issue is HUGE! He can't get online at all either. Hang in there, it will improve.

Deb and Divine,

Just wanted to say I feel a lot for you both, esp. after what Deb said about no electricity, phones and some basic simple things in life. It makes me appreciate more for what I/we have here in US. Anyways, I know these immigration processes can be frustrating but u guys hang in there. Things will get better. Good Luck and I 'll pary for u guys. I have some trying days myself.

Divine,

Sorry to hear about the name mess up. I know its a though dilemma and worst thing is I cant seem to make up my mind either when I think what I would have done had i been in your shoes. I wanna say I probably would have mailed I-129F with a letter clearing stating the name mistake on USCIS' part and with a highligted NOTE that you will follow up with a corrected NOA1 as soon as you get one from USCIS'.

Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Regards,

Pkewl

Thanks Pkewl! I didn't think of saying that I will forward the corrected NOA1 when it arrives. Then the question will be, where will I send the corrected NOA1? I guess they'll let me know exactly where my file is and how to send stuff to them.

After I sent out the I-130 I got more "proof of bona fide marriage" information. I added him as my beneficiary on my life insurance and pension plan. That info was not included with the I-130 but I was considering adding it to the I-129F even though they don't really ask for proof.

Thanks for your prayers, you are all in mine as well! And yeah, learning about how others live in other countries is a huge eye opener as to how blessed we truly are in America. I wish all of our spouses could enjoy what we have everyday. Soon they all will.
