My I-129F Check was cashed yesterday, the image appeared online today. I can read it but i'm getting that error message on the USCIS website. I tried adding one.. still an error message. I'll let you know how off the number is when the NOA1 arrives in the mail. Unless they just haven't updated it in the system yet. This is so frustrating.

Divine Mercy, Did you add '1' to the last digit of the number stamped on your check as opposed to adding an additional digit '1' to the end of the number - there should only be a total of 13 figures - ten numbers following the letters 'MSC'

What happened in my case was the number stamped on the back of my check ended in a xxxxxxx221. When I got the NOA1 in the mail, the actual number was xxxxxxx222.

I had also sat around for a week thinking that my case just hadn't been entered into the system yet - but it was there all along!

Great news. It looks like you got the NOA1 a few days before and it was sitting in your mail box. What is your best guess for the date it was received? I guess add 3 days to the stamp date.

G&A, The envelope the NOA1 was mailed in was postmarked June 20th. I live in a rural area where the mail is really slow, and I only check my box once a week. It wasn't there on June 22nd, so I suspect it probably took a week, (mail from the States usually does) and arrived on June 27th. I picked it up on June 29 (Friday).

Unfortunately I did. the number is MSCXXXXXXX844 and I tried that as well as trying MSCXXXXXXX845. The only problem about waiting for the NOA1 is that it used to be (based on other timelines) that people got it w/in about a week of having the I-129F rec'd in Chicago. Now it seems to be going a whole lot slower.

I'm not a patient person.

hello my name is margie i am new to this site. my journey however is very similar and it is wonderful to know there is support for our experiences this is not easy. i am waiting for my beautiful husband to come here to be with me he is in san pedro, dominican republic. i am actually going to see him again in 11 days for 2 weeks and i am so excited i can't even talk!!!

my time line so far is as follows:

we met in june of 06

i returned in aug. to see him again

we married on oct. 7th of 06

i retunred again in jan. 07

i returned again in april 07

i then filed the i130 in april received the noa

then in early may filed the 129f

received the first noa on may 24th 07

then on june 5th of 07 received another letter from the CSC saying that vermont sent the petition there for speedy processing.

to date that is the last i heard.\

i hired a visa service called APvisa out of ILL. to file all of my paperwork according to him it should take approximately 6-7 months from my first receipt letter of the 129 in may for my husband to have his interview date i am hoping by the end of the year we will be together. i hope after visiting with him now for 2 weeks when i return it will be to accompany him to the embassey for his interview. i also no a family in my neighborhood who have people going threw the process now and who have just recently done it and he also said it should take about 8 months total if there are no delays and your paperwork is correct and with having an agency do it for me i am hoping i have no set backs.

is there anyone that may read my experience and have any in put based on experience that they can share with me. i wish every one that has a loved one far away the best of luck, i no how difficult lonely and heartbreaking this can be. we should all ne supportive of each other and help one another as best as we can.

Yes we should all stick together and provided moral support (and some light hearted competiveness perhaps? :) )!

My husband (oh I love saying that :) !!!) posted I-130 for me and the children on 23rd May  . He is not able to check the mail regularly for the next couple of weeks so I am just going to relax about it all for 2 weeks! I already have the I-129f stuff put together!!

Best of luck to you all! I'll keep you posted

Emma

HAHAHA I agree I love saying that too! I mailed my I-130 with the USPS today (to Vermont). It's terrifying and exhilerating at the same time. We're finally in the process! I already see the light at the end of the tunnel.

This thread is such a great idea thank you so much for starting it G&A!! I guess it's time to start on the I-129F now.. eek!

I noticed by reading some timelines on here that when spouses finally do get the visa, many of them wait a month or two before coming over. I talked to my husband (yay!) about that tonight and he said he wants to fly out the very next day lol. I wonder why they wait so long? After putting up all the money for all the trips back and forth and all the filing fees, I can't imagine waiting another day longer than necessary.

I filed May 17 and USCIS received on May 18 and I have not received any word yet either. Just sitting here patiently waiting.

Well, it would help if i understood what you mean....

We were married in karachi, Pakistan, so the way I understood it, we filed an I 130, and then all of our info would be sent to Islamabad and then my husband would be sent forms for his medical and police report to be done. Also, I tought that I would have to show that I would be able to sponsor my husband as well. I am sorry, but this is somewhat confusing cause of all the darn forms for this and that ....I am not sure now what I should be doing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

I have sent our I 130 off on June 6th and now just waiting to hear something back. I just pray that they got it, but I sent it certified, so I should have gotten something back in the mail, letting me know that it was picked up.

You just go the receipt for the I130? Is your goal a CR1 or a K3 for your husband? If its the K3, you should be sending in your I129F. Please see the guides above for the details.

Hi all!

Please update my line on the Fabulous Chart - I got my I-129F NOA1 in the mail today. It probably had been sitting there for a few days, I don't check my box that often.

I discovered that the receipt number that had been printed on the back of my cashed check was off by the last digit. On the check it was a '1' and on the NOA1 receipt it was a '2'. So I entered the new improved number into the USCIS case status website and there it was! I even got a touch on it already.

:D

That makes at least three of us with the last number on the cancelled check being different. This is starting to be a trend!!

Naturalization

3/23/14 - N400 package sent to Phoenix

3/27/14 - N400 package delivered

4/3/14 - NOA1 receipt date

4/4/14 - check cashed

04/29/14 - biometrics date

07/01/14 - interview date

xx/xx/xx - Oath Ceremony

Well add me to that list for sure now. I got the NOA1 from the I-129F today and the last number on the check was 4, on the NOA it is a 5. I still can't log into the website though. Is there a different site for the I-129F from the I-130??? maybe they just haven't updated the system yet?

This is the message I get:

Validation Error(s)

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

* Case Status Retrieval Failed

* This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.
