Is it possible to rectify i-130a form?

My i-130a form was delivered a few months ago, it has not yet been handled by our allocated service centre. I have realised now after doing my tax return for last year that I need to make an amendment to include to some part time, self employment. Can I just make the amendment on the DS260 form as I am applying from abroad? I have read on other threads that I can send the amended page of the i-130a form to the service centre, along with an explanation for the amendment. I'm wondering what the best course of action to take is?
