Oooooooo so is the difference u.s. citizens vs U.S. PRs? That's interesting. I'm really curious to know why some recent people have been let in and others have not (I.e. someone after April mentioned they got in)

Yes, you will be allowed to accompany the beneficiary if you are a USC, but not if you are a PR. That's what the lady at the counter said when entering the consulate. I imagine the beneficiaries that were allowed in would have shown their US pp.

This is important info for those of you who will be flying in for your appointments with your beneficiaries. Save $$ if they aren't USC.

Ofcourse, you can always contact the consulate to verify before booking flights.

Ok so that could be the reason why he was allowed in with me when we went for the interview on May 1st; he showed his US passport.

They didn’t even ask for that at ours.

we just provided my drivers license and a few utility bills. But they didn’t want them at all.

anything with a physical address should work like bills, bank statements, etc...

okay, i know they wont ask for everything that i am bringing, but rather be safe than sorry! and okay thank you thats what i thought lol!!

You only need this if you don't currently (or didnt at the time of filing i129f) live in the U.S. If that is your case: utilities, voter registration, rental agreement, other bills showing name and address etc.

I'd say bring that for sure to be safe since that info is useful for more than domicile. Passports don't prove domicile anyway, just citizenship/ID :)

We did not, nope. I think it came in 2 or 3 days either way. To Vancouver.

Question regarding the "Intent to Marry Letter" required at the interview.

Do we use the same template as for the one provided with the I-129F (but for the petitioner only)?

i.e. "I, XXXX XXXXX, do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry XXXX XXXXX, and intend to do so within 90 days of "her/his" entry into the United States with a K-1 Visa."

Thanks!

Yes, only the petitioner’s letter of intend to marry is required. The same template can be used, but this time address it to the Consulate (though I don’t think it is relevant). Make sure that the letter is signed within 30 days of the interview date.
