Me! Haha, I've been checking every day but I have a feeling they won't open up until after Easter weekend

Seems like interviews are on Wednesday’s?  Hopefully we don’t have to wait until next week😤

Yeah I'm not sure, seems weird that they would limit everything to one day considering how many cases there probably are. I was originally thinking maybe Wednesdays were the only days left since it's a bit of an awkward day in the middle of the week that may be harder to book around. I was planning on taking advantage of being in Montreal to see it and parts of Ontario since I'm from BC, but I'm not sure how that will work out if we can only book Wednesdays  😥I saw a Montreal Consulate review for a K1 interview from March 7 that had their interview on March 6 (a Friday) so it might just depend on what's available...I want to be able to have enough notice to give my boss, so the sooner I can book it, the better 😅

MTL K1 interviews are indeed only on Weds with 4 available time slots, 730, 8, 830, 9am. At our interview I'd say there were maybe 4-5 people with us at 730, so I'm guessing that may be about how many slots are available for each half hour. March 6 was a Weds as well just FYI.

Side note we also came from BC. Were able to spend M-Thurs (flew out 7am on Fri) in MTL had no shortage of things to explore just within the city and it was a real good time :)  If you schedule your interview at 730 - you will be be out before 830 so that can also be a full day to explore.

Ah woops, I must have been looking at 2020 😰(scanned ahead to see possible future wedding celebration dates since we'll be getting married in the courthouse without our families present). Yikes, that doesn't leave many slots available then. I was more interested in seeing stuff in Ontario, but I don't want to schedule a trip out the next day in case things get unexpectantly rescheduled (like they did for the death of George H.W. Bush). Do you have any recommendations for Montreal stuff? I know a large portion of people speak English but I'm intimidated by my deteriorated French 😅

That's mainly why we booked for the whole week as well, after seeing the Bush shutdown.

We really enjoyed exploring the Old Montreal area and the Mile End neighborhood. And check out Mont Royal, it's pretty much right up the road from where the consulate is. Schwartz deli is definitely not to be missed! Also this adorable little sweets shop called Le Petite Dep in old mtl. If you like craft beer check out Brewsky also in old mtl. I think we spent like 8 hours there :)

I didn't have any problem with anyone speaking French. We pretty much used basic French greetings and such and most people seemed to be able to tell we didn't speak French and would immediately switch to English. Everyone was very friendly.

One downfall I did notice is that if you are looking to have a celebratory alcoholic beverage after your interview at 830 a.m. on a Weds.... they are not easy to find bahaha.

I think I got my Packet 3 physically in the mail today. It was actually a copy of our approved I-129F along with a notice linking to the Packet 3 instructions, so I guess this is considered the equivalent?

Yeah that's it! Congrats!

I’m assuming Wednesday interview and hoping to get June 5th as soon as the dates are open.  Luckily we can drive - only 9 hours. Today I booked a hotel for the first week of June so I could grab a reservation at a decent price.  If I have to change it, no big deal.  We plan on spending a few days before and after to hang out in the city.

Oh that's good to know, thank you for the recommendations, those all sound great! We will probably save the celebratory drinks for when I'm finally home with my fiance in the US 😂

Hello VJ's

My status changed in CEAC to "Non-Immigrant Application Received" after my interview last April 17. Case last updated April 17, 2019. is this normal? usually i read in this forum that its going to be in "Administrative Processing then Issued", is it too early to assume that status 😁

I believe "application received" is still the first notice you would get, which means your case hasn't been updated since interview. Likely the holiday has slowed last week's cases as they are closed today and were closed Friday.

Our case didn't change out of "received" until Friday after the interview so you will probably start seeing movement tomorrow or shortly after once the consulate is open again.

Thanks @MeghanK yeah i guess holiday affects the change of my status in Ceac, i thought they're sequential on the US Holidays

Question for those who've had their interview already... did you bring your documents in a folder of some sort? I heard binders aren't allowed?

I love to be organized and it'd drive me crazy if I have to bring my stack of papers all jumbled up together 😂🤦🏼‍♀️
