I know that nothing can be done until 6 weeks have passed after the NOA2... BUT I'm getting a little worried given the fact that everyone with NOA2s around the same time as us is getting confirmation that their cases were received the the NVC, and obtaining their Case Number.

Our NOA2 was on February 5, 2019. We have now received confirmation from USCIS that it was sent out to NVC on February 6, 2019 (yay!). But here we are, 5 weeks later, and the NVC still does not have it.

Anyone else in this position? What a dreadful wait...

It took us 4 weeks to get to NVC and 5 (one week after it got there) to get a case number. This is pretty standard, give or take a a week or two. You are only a little behind that timeline. I assume you've been calling NVC? Keep calling them end of each day. You shouldn't be worried yet, only frustrated :) Never compare your timeline to others' it only leads to frustration.

Thanks! That reassures me.

Yes. I have been calling almost every day! 🤣 I'll continue calling and keep my fingers crossed.

Did you receive an email? Did you update your email address with NVC?

Once it's at consulate,  it's out of NVC's hands basically so I just kept checking the CEAC update...the date changed 3 times as they were processing and then mailing it to me. I didn't get an email...just received the P3 in the mail 5 days after the date stopped changing...

For those who already had the interview (or are about to)... did you bring an employment verification letter from your fiancé's job in the States?

Is this a necessary document or is the tax return and affidavit of support enough?

Thank you in advance! 😊

If you can get it easily, get it. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. The officers look at the totality of what's submitted, you never know if the officer isn't going to be satisfied with just a tax return. Tax returns prove past income, job verification proves future income.

Thank you!!

My fiancé was able to get a letter but it's just an automated general one that shows his salary, position and start date.

He's worried it won't be good enough because this letter is not actually signed by a superior at his job and there's no actual contact information provided.

Is it from The Work Number by any chance? Just curious because that whole set up/process is so annoying. If possible, see if he can get his boss or HR to sign something. Someone else mentioned this on your other thread but one option could be that he writes up a letter (salary/position/start date, mention if position is permanent or temporary, etc.) on company letterhead and include boss or HR contact info, and has them sign it.

I wouldn't panic about it though. Is his start date on the automated one from very far back? The longer he has had the job, the more stability that doc alone will show. If it's a newer job, it might help to have it written that he is in good standing for ongoing employment. Again though, this is all just "be over-prepared" advice :)

Yes.
It says in the instructions for the I134:
"Submit in duplicate evidence of income and resources, as appropriate:
A. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account:
(1) Date account opened;
(2) Total amount deposited for the past year; and
(3) Present balance.
B. Statement(s) from your employer on business stationery showing:
(1) Date and nature of employment;
(2) Salary paid; and
(3) Whether the position is temporary or permanent.
C. If self-employed:
(1) Copy of last income tax return filed; or
(2) Report of commercial rating concern.
D. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s)."

They expect the i134 package to include all supporting evidence.
My petitioner isn't self employed and they also kept his W2's and tax returns for the past 3 years, so I am glad I had it all.

Received a few email notifications about VJ Timelines I follow that were updated to "NVC Received" today.

Decided to call the NVC to inquire about our case. Guess what? NVC RECEIVED! Yay!

If you are still waiting for your case to be received at the NVC, you may want to call. It looks like they may have received a chunk of February NOA2s today!

Indeed!

I'm an IR-1 applicant from Montreal with January 10th NOA2 and got the "NVC Received"/"Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation" e-mail today! 😄
