Just curious if anyone knows why airline tickets are always nontransferable? I mean if I purchased a ticket and I end up not using it, why can't I just give it to a friend to use instead of losing out on all that $$$?

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination

06/26/07 - Packet 3 SUBMITTED FINALLY!!!!

07/07/07 - Received pkt 4

07/22/07 - interview consular never bothered to show up for work.

07/29/07 - interview.

I think that's how they make a good amount of money. They say it's for security purposes, but really it's what Lisa said.

11/30/2007 = Rec'd NOA1 hard copy in the mail

03/12/2008 = Touched (due to phone call)

03/24/2008 = NOA2!!!!!!!!!

05/05/2008 = Arrived at Consulate

05/12/2008 = Picked up Packets 3 & 4

06/24/2008 = Interview Date and APPROVAL

07/02/2008 = Picked up Visa at Embassy

07/05/2008 = Arrival in the U.S.!!!!!!!!! Met at POE in ATLANTA

07/06/2008 = Fly back to Salt Lake City Together!!!!

08/06/2008 = MARRIED TODAY!!!

It's all about money.

For example, I have several return portions of various international tickets. The Airlines will not give you 50% of it's value in a refund, which would be intuitive. Instead, you get the FU formula, which equates to about 20%.
