Follow up again with them in 14 days.  Use the same email chain, but change the subject line to something like:  2nd Attempt - Action Required.  Sometimes that gets a little more than an automatic reply.

To me, it looks like they may have just looked at your case status, rather than investigate to answer the concerns your fiancé raised.

Immigration, much like healthcare, you really have to be your own advocate.

Every day that goes by is one day closer to

visa in hand, even though I know it’s a special kind of frustrating waiting on that part of the process bc your lives are kinda just in a weird holding/limbo pattern.

I have never wanted a strangers visa to be approved so badly as I do for yours haha.  All my positive vibes are for you :)

Thanks 😘 worse is it’s a fob off to the senator’s office!!!

Will ask senator’s office to escalate to a supervisor in 14 days.

So senator’s office got the reply below. Chayne thinks it’s the worst kind of canned response, I read it as optimistic that we may be finally at visa processing time.

Inquiry asked for file to be found and to check if there was any annotation on my file preventing issuance of a visa and not an error on ceac or the computer system.

What do you think am I being overly optimistic? Senators office said if nothing in 14 days let them know and they will send another inquiry.

*xxx where names were to prevent identifying info.

Thank you for your correspondence on behalf of Senator Xxxxx constituent regarding Ms xxxxx application for an immigrant visa.

Our records indicate that Ms. Xxxx application is in the final stages of processing. The average timeframe for an immigrant visa application is 7-10 working days plus a further 1- 2 days for delivery. However, as processing varies in every case, timescales are given for guidance only. As soon as delivery arrangements have been made, the courier will send delivery tracking information to the email address provided when Ms. Xxxxx visa interview appointment was scheduled.

I hope this information is helpful in responding to your constituent.

As we have gotten responses from senator and congressman similar but ours never said "final stages" that could be good news for your case. I'd say it's generic but also those few words make a lot of difference in just being "subject to ap at this time."

For reference this was the last response.. It takes our senator about 2 weeks to get back to us so we haven't heard back yet with the 3rd inquiry (as she is running for president 2020 I'm sure her staff is exceptionally busy).

No worries about the caps and thanks for the support.

have an ap joke for you all:

Administrative processing is like being an Alzheimer’s patient in a waiting room. You don’t know why you’re there or what day, week, or month your appointment is or even what your prognosis is 😂😰

Hey,

This was the 'canned' response Steve and I got and it was issued in about 2 days after. Good luck!

I would say it's canned. They didn't confirm they put their hands on the physical file.  BUT on a positive note, if it was misplaced, maybe this prompted them to find it and they just didn't want to admit it.

In a subsequent contact from the senator, I would ask them to say, "You didn't answer the question. Confirm that you have seen the physical file."
