ok - another one - one of my favourite all time artists - Stan Rogers. I was fortunate enough to see him perform live in Kingston a few years before his tragic death in a plane crash.

start work of June 1

AOS interview in Bloomington on July 19 8am

AOS approved,passport stamped on July 19

as of Dec 10, 2006 still no greencard....waiting and waiting....USCIS says we are approved, and check back in 60 days...no idea what is happening

Dec 18, email stating welcome letter is in the mail

Dec 20, 5 emails saying they ordered production of my new card......

Dec 24...welcome to America letter in the snail mail

Dec 26...GC in hand and all is correct...

NOTE TO SELF..file to lift conditions 04/19/08

04/22/08 filed to lift conditions

05/01/08 package returned wrong form

05/05/08 re-submitted right form to california

05/09/08 cheque cashed

05/19/08 appointment letter for biometrics received..appointment on 05/28/08 at 11 am at USCIS St. Paul

05/28/08 took my two appointment letters and had my fingerprints done

11/13/08 touched and email stating card production ordered and will be sent to me in 30 days

11/21/08 GC in hand no mistakes expires 11/13/18

OMG!!! My parents and relatives actually took all us cousins to a park in Toronto (or maybe it was Terra Cotta?) just to see him!!! We're all British so the adults were craving anything British. lol

I can remember that distinctly and had TOTALLY forgotten about him. Too funny.

TO SEE UNCLE BOBBY?? WOW :lol: ........sorry :blush:

Misa, he had the guy that said "It's magic". I went to the show when I was little, and then saw them in Cobourg while I was in high school, my friends had no clue who they were. Thought I was strange :wacko:

I remember the Tiny Talent show, I'd dream of being able to do something to get on there :star:

seem to think the show was out of London, Ont or somewhere around there.

I remember Uncle Bobby quite well. My Aunt (who worked at CFTO where it was taped) and my Mum *still* complain about the ol' pervert :P My Mum would never let me go be on the show specifically because he'd made a rather nasty advance at her at a holiday party one year. My sister and I got invitation after invitation to be on the show and we never understood til we were much older why we couldn't go.

I did however get on a segment of Live It Up when I was in highschool.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

Oh god, I remember that Tiny Talent Time. Even as a kid I used to laugh at it. That was on before that one other one I vaguely remember with logs and a beach. I think it was Beachcombers or something like that. I just remember a guy that looked like grizzly adams on it. Not even sure what the show was about...

In grade school, some girl that went to our school was bragging so much about how she was going to be on Tiny Talent Time, so we all watched it and she FROZE on camera (looked like a deer caught in the headlights) and screwed up her piano song. Heh!

About the original list: when my husband (hes the Canadian) and I first started dating he sent me the list and we went over it one by one...now after 5 years in Canada I send the list to my friends and family back home and *I* have to go over it with them one by one..LOL

Im writing down all the other things mentioned so I can ask my husband about them...last time I did from another thread someone had brought up The Littlest Hobo, my husband sang the theme song about 1000 times...LOL

one show he has tried to get me to watch but I just dont like is..King of Kennsington

and he also likes the band Max Webster and I think they sound horrible... LOL... we once went to a concert in Toronto for Canada Day it was the Guess Who headlining ( I LOVE the Guess Who/ Burton Cummings!) it was actually Burton Cummings who got us together..long story...

the other performers were a guy named David Wilcox, and Kim Mitchell.. had no clue about either of them.. when they came on to sing their "hits" , I had to laugh because I was the only one sitting down and not singing along..when Kim came on my husband MADE ME stand up for "Patio Lanterns"..which seemed to be one of the most popular songs..LOL

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
