It's just dependent on the consulate. Some are faster at scheduling interviews than others. Some people might go from DQ to interview in a month while other can take 5-6 months (Canada) or closer to a year (Mexico).

It's best to join the regional forum of whichever country you're in (or try to find people who have applied from your country) to see what the normal waiting time is for an interview.

No, the clock does not restart, your petition will keep its place in line; your old receipt number started with WAC or the new one?

The old one. I haven't received a new case number yet. It said it will send a letter which I'm still waiting for.

Ah okay, is your case F2A, since it was in California right? But yes you will still keep your place in line even with the transfer so the clock won't restart

My spouse's embassy appointment is in a few weeks. We filed in February, were sent to Nebraska, and got approval in July—one month after sending in a K3 application. No expedite, no transfer, nothing else that could have moved things along.

Yes, LilyJ and I did the same with the K-3 filing, and I believe many others did as well. I'm expecting our interview letter any day now. I was just thinking today how lucky we February folks were to file the I-130s when we did... any earlier and we would have been too far along for K-3 to make much difference, and any later and it may not have worked at all (as seems to be the case with the recent filings).

Agreed, I think that May-July was the perfect window for the I129f, since even those who filed I130 around Jan-April but didn't file I129f until October-December don't seem to be hearing anything anymore. Our I129f took a little longer for our I130 to be approved (50 days after sending it), but I'm glad that it at least cut some time off! I'm a bit behind the both of you since we had to submit an additional doc at NVC and are still waiting for 2nd review but I hope that we can get an interview for February 2020
