Don’t try to do what? Get married? Nothing at all wrong with getting married whilst in tourist status.

Exactly.  A lot of "impossible" talk in this thread, while different options are legal and possible.  For example, I was covered by my husband's insurance as soon as we married; had I been pregnant, I could have visited to deliver the baby and then go back to Canada for my interview.  From what I know, I would have preferred to deliver the baby in Canada, but that would have been my choice.

There is a significant issue in some locations obtaining prenatal care on short notice. You do not want to go without care immediately before delivery.  Being pregnant will get you emergency care for delivery but not appointments at a physicians office who often have waiting times months long for an appointment for a first visit.  A doctor does NOT have to accept a person as a patient. The more popular the physician, the longer the waits.  In my area, getting a new appointment with a physician with decent qualifications in a reasonable location can take over 6 months - if you can get one at all.  Check it out before you decide.
