uh what?  i am unaware of any study indicating that smoking affects one's genes and therefore, their offspring.

and even if it did, what happened to the mantra "my body, my choice"???

Yes. It's true. I could give you a ton of links and research on it, if you'd like? For now I'll drop some of these:

Furthermore some studies have shown, much like children born to those of heavy drinkers or former addicts, changes to genes and mutations put those children of greater risks of a variety of diseases and may be more likely to be a heavy drinker or addict themselves. Science is discovering that it is not just exposure to the parent's smoke that kills and causes disease, but genetic changes as well.

Saudi Arabia is number 50? I thought cigs were haram in Islam?

This is actually a false statement because smoking is actually very prevalent across the Gulf region. Only when ISIS came about that smoking was considered haram and even under the punishment of death if caught people still smoked I have actually seen testimony from Saudi Arabia that some women have taken up chain smoking in order for the husband to divorce them. What's funny is when I lived in Qatar they didn't implement a indoor smoking ban until 2010 and of course it was only enforced against the Expats or Non-Qatari.

Maybe what he's saying is that they could choose to work elsewhere.  Personally I think restaurants have no smoking because it's easier for them to have clientele and staff.

Exactly and you can not eat there if you dont like it. I am sure there would be very few smoking restaurants.  I am not pro smoking. I am pro freedom. in such that if a guy spends his own money and customers have free will to not eat there, then why is it the government's  bussines

Same apllies to idiots that want to handle poisonous snakes in a religious ceremony.
