Hello all!

I have scheduled my interview and will be going at the end of the month. I have been sent a one page document with the interview information and what to bring.

My next post will be on the interview.

I hope these posts will help someone in the future.

I had a question, if applying through a grandparent to meet the residency requirements does the Gandparent must have lived in the US at least 5 years.

Does the grandparent have to be a US citizen during those complete 5 years?

The grandparent who is applying became a citizen in November 2017 as of today thats 4 years and 3 months as a US citizen. and also has been in the US for about 10 years now 6 years as a permanent resident.

  • When it comes to the 5 years of physical presence, parents can count time in the U.S. even before they became citizens.”
