Thanks for the quick reply :)

Any idea where I would find the contact information for the Sydney Medical Centre?

I don’t know why but the medial info page on the US consulate site keeps coming up as ‘page not found’. Here’s a screenshot from VJ although I’m not sure if they’re both still current (I’m on my phone):

Any idea where I would find the contact information for the Sydney Medical Centre?

I just had my medical at Medi Central with Celina Rappaport. Lovely lady. Cost me $520 but I didn’t need any vaccinations.

The info must be slightly dated because Celina is now at 501 George. Any questions, happy to try answer!

Hi David & Nicole,

Thanks for the info. Was your fiancé based in Sydney? I'm from South Australia and there is no where to have a Medical here so I will be having mine in Sydney. Our immigration lawyer said I would have it 1 day before my interview but now I am skeptical about this (As you said it takes 5 business days for results). Im thinking I might need to make 2 seperate trips to Sydney... 1 for my medical and one for the actual interview.

Any information would be great!

Also has anyone asked for an earlier date? I haven't even received an interview date but my fiancé is deploying overseas at the end of April and I'm getting worried all the Visa 'stuff' won't get mme there before then 😕

Thanks!

Amanda

I had my medical on Monday (superbowl day :( ). And then my interview is this coming Tuesday.

I have been told that as long as i have the receipt for having done my medical that is all I need to do the interview. They will simply process your case as soon as the medical info arrives.

So flying up the day before should not be a problem.

Another solution might be to fly up to Queensland on a friday (im based in Brisbane), get your medical done and make a short weekend getaway out of it.

Thanks for the reply Snuffles.

Are you based in Sydney? Did she mention how long it takes for the results to reach the Embassy?

Also how long did the medical take?

We are on a time crunch and I'm just wondering if I should do 2 seperate trips to Sydney to make sure everything is their the day of my interview.

I should mention I have an 8 month old and she will be coming with me so i'm trying to factor what will be best for her too.

Thanks so much!

So I’m not sure when you should do it. Yes I am based in Sydney. When I rang they booked it based on 3 weeks from my interview date. I’m not sure if they will make allowances because of where you are but I’m sure you wouldn’t the first person.... I’m certain there was someone here who had their medical after interview and it wasn’t an issue. And even though this is other embassies, other people have been approved ‘pending medical results’ because the medical was so close. Sorry, I can’t help you with *this* scenario!

The medical took roughly 2 hours. That was also taking a trip down the street to get x-Ray and waiting for the CD. She did a q&a type questionnaire on all your health. She had to call my local doctor to ask for an updated letter so that took a bit of time (being on hold and all lol). Bloods were in the same building. It’s also right near Town Hall station 👍🏻

I’ll get in touch when we hear a bit more and see what they recommend.

Thanks so much! What’s the letter from the doctor? First time I’ve heard of this?

Oh, I don’t know if you need to worry about it. I just have a bit of a mental health history (I’m okay now) so just explaining I’m well etc

Just to let anyone who stumbles upon this know, I handed over the last 2 W2s and only a single (latest) tax transcript. I went to the interview prepared with heaps of financial proof, they just didn't need it. Best to attend the interview with lots of proof and have them decide what they need.
