The plot thickens...

A work visa? A young mother with ten children came in on a work visa?! Hoo boy, he needs some new lawyers. Also.. he has like four US citizen kids.. and was trying to apply for a U visa? :wow:

Not sure how reliable or correct this is, a U visa, well not sure that would go down well with his peer group.

But his mother coming on a Work Visa with all those children? That seems shall we say unlikely.

It all sounds very baffling.

Sounds like another case of confused and dubious immigration lawyers... The work visa situation is very doubtful, also the phrase "work visa" in itself is extremely vague and tells us very little.

It is a certified copy but looks legit to me.

Agree, not sure what good a counterfeit UK birth certificate would do to help his situation...if anything, it hurts his situation. It just looks like the UK has very old school BC's with the hand written parts, that's curious. I know in my home state they're all printed/typed, even since the 80's.

Been a couple of years since I've seen my hubby's BC, but it was also handwritten. Just seems to be how it's done there, even the prince and princess had handwritten certificates filled out by Prince William.

Seems pretty legit to me (and confirm it via ancestry's databases), the BC was put out by the Daily Mail, and also mentioned his twin sisters (certainly not ten siblings) that I think are in the UK. In fact, it seems he still has a lot of family in the UK. Wonder if they will bother picking up his momma?

I could not work out where the other siblings were, seem his father has 2 new ones by somebody else, just wondering if the number of siblings was correct.

I have seen 2 or 3 children mentioned for him. I thought he might go for COR but the Felony Drugs makes things complicated.

If I was to put money on it I would assume he is his mothers only child and the 2 girls are step sisters living with their Dad in the UK.

So supposedly his attorney is saying that he applied for a U visa back in 2017 because he saw his friend get murdered back in 2012.

I was thinking when I read this that "of course he saw his friend get killed. He is self admitted drug dealer and gang member". He also has a Felony conviction for drugs so I don't know how much that will figure in to him getting the visa.

Think of the U visa as a form of amnesty, in some areas, usually the ones with Sanctuary Cities there is a local legal requirement for the Police to cooperate in providing supporting documentation.

Inevitably and logically there is a high correlation of people who apply who are are perpetrators and victims of crime. However to my knowledge there is no requirement to have a clean record.

And to give some idea of the numbers involved I believe it is about half the number as DACA, but with the big plus can lead to a Green Card. Do not know if it would in this case. But unlikely he cares about that.

They are now saying he has four siblings in the US and his mother is a LPR. Perhaps she married and had more children?

Ohh and that he came on a H4, going to assume Mother had a H2b but there is no mention.

The reason why he is called 21, is supposedly that he was shot multiple times, during the death of his friend or something. Surprised his claims with the U visa haven't something to do with that, but it's still nonsense anyway.

Immigration attorney's are pretty angry about this case, apparently his attorney is just some atypical Hollywood type, not much of a clue regarding these matters.

So much for ten siblings eh? If she's an LPR why didn't she get him some sort of legal status?

Surprisingly not no Journalist sic seems to have done any digging, most just report others or press releases.

Who knows basically, seems the family in the UK have been told to keep quiet, there are pictures of his mother and one video but nothing else. Overstaying her visa not many options, Marriage is the obvious one.

Assuming what has been said is true, I tend to believe the U one, not something I come across now but I remember when it first came out it was dissected and considered a good route for many who would have no other option due to for example criminal past. I assume that is why they are not going for COR.

I read something similar with Rolling Stone (can't find the link) that said the reason he's been here for this long, after overstaying his original visa, is that he's currently pending approval of a U visa, which can apparently take upwards of 8 or more years to be fully processed. I was talking about this topic with my husband over the weekend (the beneficiary, in our household), and he thinks it's a matter of pending U visa applicants, in the past, sort of being "left alone" by ICE, etc., as they were treated as low priority, risk-wise. But now that no longer seems to be the case. I actually never even knew something like the U visa existed before reading this article, so I don't know much about it. But I'm confused as to why he wouldn't try for an O visa at this point, as he's been a successful celebrity for...a couple of years now? Not sure how long he's been in the business, to be honest. That would seem to be something much easier to acquire, versus the U, at least timeframe wise. But maybe he couldn't, if we was already pending a U visa...?

I personally think there's a lot more to the story than what's being given at face value.

Also - it's comical to hear about these other (non-foreign citizen) celebrities hiring all these fancy lawyers for him. In the article I read, the lawyer Jay Z got him "is not well known for immigration law". We all know how "well" the advice given by actual immigration lawyers can go - I don't want to imagine that given by a non-immigration lawyer.

Håll ut, y'all.
