You can probably mail it anytime. A lot of people went to their ASC or even a different one before the date and got their biometrics done.

Hey, I filed on 31st January - and got NOA emails on the 18th Feb (apparently the applications were picked up on the 4th/5th Feb). I'm also out of town from the 6th-10th March and am starting to get concerned about missing the Biometrics appointment? Can I just show up to get it done if I miss the appointment? or go earlier if I get my appointment letter?

Wait for the biometric appointment letter, if the appointment falls when you are out of town, go before your scheduled date to get it done. A lot of people did it and so far I never heard of people who got refused.

Usually the letter arrive a couple of weeks prior to the appointment, so you should have plenty of time. Mine arrived 2 or 3 weeks before I think.

great, thanks again! - I just looked at your timeline, you have your interview already? before you've got your EAD and AP? (it also happens to be on my birthday which is why I noticed it)

😧 oh - I don't want to cancel my trip for my birthday, but if it means I'm not going to get my EAD and AP then maybe I'll have to.  Anyone know if you can go to a different office? There's only one record for the Brooklyn office (my closest) but a few more for the Manhattan office which I can get to easily

From what I've seen, the letter arrives 1.5 to 3 weeks before the actual appointment.

My plan is to try a walk-in if it happens to be scheduled on a day that I am out of town, if that doesn't work...maybe I can reschedule my trip. My last resort is to mail the notice back and officially reschedule, but that will push the entire process (EAD and AP as well) by at least a month.

Yeah I'm definitely not wanting to send in the letter to reschedule as I don't want to wait another month beforeI can look for work.....

CHANGE OF ADDRESS

Did anyone change address online before mailing their AOS? We just moved after wedding and our address now is different from address in I-129F. I’ve read in USCIS website that even I don’t have a pending case yet, I need to change address.

I didn’t file AOS yet. That was my first plan too until I bumped to a similar question like this on facebook groups and people are saying we should change address online.

People move a lot in the US, so different address from K1 visa to AOS is something usual plus you have new set of forms to file. I don't see why people should live at the same place all the time or you file AOS with your old address where you no longer live there only to change it later after you file AOS which to me doesn't make any sense
