Now that we have EAD, we just have to wait like 2 years for AOS interview? Seems like such a long time. I guess I should have filled out the AP for her so she could go back sometime, but from the requirements I didn't think she qualified.

You can still file for AP at no cost; you just need to include a copy of your NOA1 from AOS with your application.

Hi everyone. Have not been active here for a while but wanted to give you an update in case it helps. My noa for me Aos/EAD/AP is feb 12. I did my bio metrics March 6. I then interviewed for a company and got a solid job offer two weeks ago. I then contacted my state senator for assistance expediting my case. Yesterday I got my approval for the expedite request and got the confirmation  for my EAD and AP yesterday in the mail. It says it will send me EAD/AP shortly.

Just wanted to give anyone confidence to apply for work and contact their state senator for assistance expediting. This means my EAD/AP was approved in 75 days.

Any questions let let me know!

Good to know...as I’m currently progressing through an application process that is leaning towards a job opportunity.  I’m pretty much certain my case is nowhere near even being considered beyond the completed bio review, so I’ll prepare the contact to the State Senator’s office sooner than later.  Sad that these things need to go this route, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

thanks for the tip!

Congratulations!! What details did you provide to the senator if you don’t mind me asking? Did they reply back to you or they just expedited it without your knowledge?

Good luck with the new job!!

I had to provide a formal copy of my job offer letter, and complete a simple form providing my case numbers and reason for expedite. I wrote due to needing a job to support my family - which everyone can say right?! and someone from his office let me know they had sent the enquiry to uscis directly. I then got notice from his office that it had been approved and to expect the letters, which I got a few days ago.

I wondered if they were particularly keen on expediting as the company I’m going to work for is very large and their head office is in my state. I am not sure if it was for a part time position at Starbucks that it would have the same effect you know? Not hating on that role either, just trying to think like they might.

Ironically, my Attorney writes me very early this morning (8:01am for him IS early - trust me!), mentioning his "limited success" option of appealing to the USC's state senator for assistance in expediting our case due to various, legit reasons (head-of-household financial support, at-risk career opportunity if I can't accept and start work in a timely fashion for the offering company, etc).  I was planning on coordinating this effort, any way, and am encouraged by your success.  Further to the irony, I have a "next level" interview today, and if a job offer is forthcoming, we'll start drafting our letter immediately so we'll be ready to have Her state senator get to work for us.

This potential hiring company is National, with a "head office" in our state, and serves the Government/Public Safety/First Responders community with their critical software systems.  I'm hoping it falls on the "important enough" considerations for justifying expediting/approval.

Congrats to you!

Hi everyone.

Just want to share my experience.

I am in Cleveland, Ohio.

2/22/2019 I mailed out my package to Chicago center.

2/25/2019 File was received and case updated to "case was received"

2/28/2019 case status updated to accept fingerprint fee

3/15/2019 received bio appt letter, appt was scheduled on 3/27/2019

3/18/2019 i walked in USCIS Cleveland office and did the fingerprint

3/21/2019 case updated to "case was ready to scheudle an interview"

3/25/2019 case status updated to "interview was schedueld"

3/27/2019 i filed expedite on my EAD/AP combo card. Then i was told to log in myacoount.uscis.dhs.gov. it shows "3/18/2019 fingerprint review was completed"

3/28/2019 i765 updated case was requested expedite but was not assign to an officer

4/2/2019 received interview notice letter, inerview schduled for 4/29/2019

4/2/2019 i 765 updated 3 lines. 1. case was assigned o an officer for a respnse. 2. a response was sent to me. 3. case was completed. I first felt confused then i received an email in the evening said they need more evidence to expedite.

4/3/2019 faxed all proof to the number in the email

4/13/2019 i 765 case was upated "new card was being produced"

4/15/2019 i 765 and I 131 was both updated "case was approved"

4/18/2019 i 765 updated "card was mailed to me", no tracking was included. googled if was priority mail or what

4/19/2019 received a text message said a package was sent to me from MO, priority mail by USPS. around 4 pm thought i can't get the card until Monday 4/22

4/20/2019 surprising received EAD and AP combo card in mail in the morning. the status changed in the afternoon said card was delivered tome by the post office with a tracking #...

Now i am waiting for my interview.

i did not know that i-485 interview can be expedited. i was looking for some interview questions today then i saw someone even expedite their AOS interview.

Good luck to eveyone filed in Feb!

I just finished my interview today. it was pretty smooth.

checked both driver's license for checking in. free conversation. about 5 mins. Then waiting at the designed area for about 15 mins.

it was a caucation male offcier came out and called my name.

it was to my surprises that Cleveland do have many people interviewing for immigrantion. there were around 20 offices and all of them were full for interwerees.

He started with those i485 yes and no questions. Then asked us to say each other's name, birthday and parents' name. Wedding day.

Then he asked us to tell him the story that how we met and why we decided to get married. My husband made it very brief,  like 5 sentence. How we met, he asked me out for the first date, when we move in, when he proposed and the wedding...I was astonished that i wish he could eliberate more.

Then he asked us to provide him any evidence that we thoughk were related to our marrige.

I said I had our marriage license, joint account, credit cards statement, house mortage, utility bills, health insrance, air tickects for previous vacations and pictures.

He said he had M/L and lots of pictures that i submitted with these forms. Since i submitted my form with all above on Feb 25th, most of them did not change. He only picked joint account statement and unitily bills for March.

Then he passed on a form with his name, my case number and the option he chose was suggested for approval.

He explained this is a 2 year conditional card. I need to file the I-751 90 days before this card expiring. also I can file for neutralization 3 years after the issue date of the first green card.

He said sometimes i751 took longer than expected. it was very possible that i would have my 751 interview scheduled together with neutraliztion.

Then we shaked hands and said goodbye.

My schduled appointment was 12:15pm. we arrived at 11:50 for checked in, finished and came out at 12:25pm.

Good luck to everyone.

Congrats to you!

I sucessfully expetited my EAD and Ap combo card without asking for senator.

i called USCIS and told them i need to expedite my process then they gave me 4-5 reasons said i need to file through one of them.

Then i picked the 1st, financial loss.

It took them 4 days to review and process my expedite application. Then They emailed me said they need more evidence.

I faxed them my house mortgage, 2 car  mortgages, my hudsband's student loan. With all lastest statments and wrote my situation said my hudsband's income hardly cover our living expense. I want to help him.

Then my case expedition approved.

Must be nice..."sorry" about your "wait"...especially when there are September, October, November, December and January filers who are still waiting for ANYTHING to progress on their applications.   🙄

I've spoken to USCIS before about Expedite, and this is true; you don't necessarily need a Senator's backing to successfully prove your valid expedite reason.  I called for a very justifiable reason, and the person who took my call agreed in principle that it would justify an expedite, but to hang on until about June 1st before I make it formal.

The problem with a failed expedite request, is that your application is returned to the HUGE pile and you've lost that much more processing time while your expedite request is reviewed.  Thankfully, for you, yours was approved.  I'm guessing, based on my scenario and the feedback of the USCIS operator who took my call, that it will be approved also...but am holding out until it becomes more critical to prove the point.

Good luck with the rest of your process......
