Hello:

I e-mailed chennai consulate about sending packet 3 as soon as they have the case from NVC.

My e-mail:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

I filed for K3 visa for my husband. I would like to know if my husband could send the packet 3 application and checklist to the consulate as soon as we confirm with you the recepit of our case from NVC at your office"

Their reply:

"We dont require anything to be sent in advance for the K-3 visa, we will schedule the appointment as soon as we receive the case here."

So, I guess we will get a interivew letter, hopefully as soon as they revieve the case from NVC.

Hi,

I may be wrong but if I'm not mistaken you have to turn in packet 3 before getting the interview letter which is included in packet 4. We're going through the Delhi Embassy and this is what we had to do. I think it's the same for the other Indian consulates as well. You may want to post this question in the South Asia forum too if you haven't already. Those who have gone through the Chennai consulate (ELW is a great source of information) will help you understand the process more clearly.

I am also going to New Delhi and one of my friend received the interview date without getting Packet 3. Let's see how it works for me.
