Hi, all!

I had my citizenship interview on 13th of November and it's been 3 weeks since then without a change in status, even though the officer said that I passed and I should receive an invitation to the oath ceremony in a week or two.

Don't know what to do, do I keep waiting for a little bit longer or I start calling and ask why is the process delayed?

Hi! Do you reside in Brooklyn or Manhattan?

In Brooklyn

That was my guess as the interviews are happening more quickly there (slower for residents of Manhattan/Bronx)

I waited for 9 months, pretty quick. But I am stuck now, nothing is changing, and it concerns me.

The thing is that the officer asked me for 2 passport size photos and I didn't have them with me, so after interview I went to take the photos and then came back and left them at the clerk window, to be afterwards given to my officer. I have a feeling that they may have misplaced my photos and this is why nothing is happening.

Why did they ask for passport photos? What is the status of your case within your online profile?

Passport size photos for the citizenship certificate, even though I sent 2 photos with the application.

The status is: "We scheduled your interview"

Try calling the field office and asking to speak with a Tier 2 officer. It sounds like something isn't right given that the officer told you your case was approved but your online account still doesn't reflect that.

I'm going to wait for 4 full weeks and then I'll call.

I also changed my address with the officer and on my uscis account the address changed, too, but nothing else beside that changed, not even that I attended the interview.

Thank you for talking to me.

Hi guys,

thank you for all your post. My journey is officially over. I had a pretty smooth interview but wasn't approved on the spot, then received an email bright and early the next morning indicating I was approved. I later received my oath ceremony date 5 days after my approval. I was sworn in yesterday morning in Brooklyn.

CONGRATULATIONS to all approved friends in journey and all the best to everyone else.

I'M OFFICIALLY A US CITIZEN Y'ALL!!!!🇺🇸🥰

I'm in the same exact spot , I had my interview Nov 20th, passed my interview and officer recommended my case for approval, and stilll today my online still showing we scheduled your interview. It really frustrating because the officer told me I should receive the oath letter a week or two. SMH.

It's very annoying, because they don't have a reason to delay, but they still do.

I would prefer not to be told that I should expect an oath invitation and then doubting myself that something might went wrong, when the letter is not in my mailbox a month later.
