Very nice Lisa.... I wore a backless halter dress with a plunging neckline as well.... it was a champagne color with beading on the top and on the bottom back in a v-shape.... I was seeking a similar sophisticated look and I didn't want to look too much like a 'bride'...

Congratulations.... another check mark on the list!!

Jen

ahhh, so you had my exact mindset with not wanting to look 'too youthful but not too dowdy'

I think we pulled it off!

Wanna show us some piccies? Pretty please?

Belive it or not, I have not uploaded the CDs my family gave me of pics from the wedding... I have nothing electronic yet. How sad it that? We've been married 6 months.... most of his family doesn't even know what I look like :(

lol!

well when you get around to it, you'd better show us! Or at least me, lol

How did you deal with the boobage sitch? Tape or some specialty bra, or just free as a bird? lol

I haven't read through all the posts yet-not sure if it was mentioned BUT duck tape works wonders. Girls will stay in place 100%. And you can use vodka to get the duck tape off among a few other things. Miracle of Vodka oh and duct tape!

Married August 21 2004 in Nova Scotia!

October 19/04 sent I-130.

April 17/08 finally arrive back in New Orleans after 3 years and 8 months.

May 19/08 Perm Resident Card arrives.

July 24/08 Reapply for a new SS card with married name.

August 4/08 Baby daughter born.

This has been in the works for quite some time, but I finally got my wedding gown today!

It's this one:

dress.jpg

omG I wanna puke I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So is it be the real one that designer Marc Bower created for his 2004 line? Or the cheepo knock-off from Allan Schwartz?

Wow- a rare trip to O/T; seemingly to have a dig or throw a snide comment, and you get the name of the designer wrong! Tsk Tsk.

I think you mean New York designer Marc Bouwer, no?

Anyway, Lisa....The dress is stunning! So happy it arrived OK :D

Actually not. On both counts. It's a simple and fctual question. Having been in fashion, I follow the trends pretty closely and one things I don't seem to comprehend is the notion of wanting to 'look like something it/he/she is not" :D

But, scrubbing duct tape off your boobies with vodka on your wedding night is hardly romantic...!

Thank you so much Shele...you were the first person I called this morning, btw.

And DM...thank you for your concern into my personal finances! But you need not worry yourself with such things that don't concern you.

Where I got the dress is irrelevant at this point....the funny thing is your comment of 'cheapo-knock off'. I actually happen to own several ABS gowns that I've worn for various functions and fundraisers, and 'cheapo' is not a word I'd use. However, I wonder how others here would respond to that question if you asked if it was the 'real deal or a cheapo knock off'. I wonder to myself if you'd actually ever say that to anyone other than me. Hrmm. Prolly not. Which only goes to show the deplorable and catty campaign against me because I'm blunt, therefore that somehow justifies the most socially retarded & uncivilized behavior.

So I'll thank you for commenting because, funnily enough...your comment says way more about you than it does about my dress. But thanks again for the post! I'm in far too good a mood to be brought down, much less by you, so you can try your worst if you feel like it.

Yawn. Wow....we're a little testy today. Chill, Brangelina! One factual question does not equal a campaign or a vendetta, does it?.

BTW, we all make the occasional typo...don't we? But kudos to you for knowing the designer. You astound me once again .

You can try all you want, but you're not going to put me in a bad mood. It was not the question, rather the way you asked it that shows your true colors here.

And my name is Lisa, not Brangelina...thanks

but then again, having the glue still on the boobies makes the hands stick a lot easier

I think this would look loverly, and cover your neck if worn low enough.

Here is a site with oodles of hair accessories, thought it was quite cool.

That IS cute Bethanie! I'm going to print that out for my little book of possibilities. You're right tho, it has to be a little lower :( I don't wanna be all frankenscar on my big day, lol! when I got the scar I was all 'I'll go for plastic surgery down the road' but now, it's just meh, it's there..but I might even try some makeup on it, cos I really want to hide it on that day.

YAY LIZZY! HOW WONDERFULLLLLLLLLLLLLL! I missed your post earlier...but I sent you a msg earlier so :)

TY JVCnCVO. :)

Caro...where you been, woman? Miror...you too. Haven't seen ya around lately!

I am astounded by all the support in this thread...who woulda thunk a little innocuous wedding dress thread would be so big. Thank you all again for all the nice comments...you really are very very sweet!

NOW........let's discuss shoes!
