Hi all,

Wondering if there's any self-employed sponsor on this forum ?

I have a single member LLC, and wondering if I need to provide any documentation in addition to last three years' IRS transcripts. Does anyone have any experience / knowledge about that ?

I read this article: https://learn.simplecitizen.com/2017/06/self-employed-sponsor-uscis-form-864-affidavit-support/

And this is suggesting,

  • Complete Tax Returns from previous years
  • Business License / Registration etc
  • Bank Statements for previous months

I don't have any issues submitting these, (and maybe even my Investments statements), but my worry is that the more documentation I provide, the more it confuses them, and causes them to request further documentation / RFE.

What minimum have the other self-employeds gotten through with ?

Thanks for your help.

Thank you

Only mandatory if your income on your tax return transcripts are below the poverty level.

You need police clearance certificate to present during your spouse interview as well at NVC stage .You can simply request by going to passport office website and can apply for it and yes when you will apply it will ask u the reason why you need it and you can choose immigration purpose from drop down menu.

I understand that I need to get the Police Cleaner Certificate and the drop down menu option of immigration purpose. My question is what documents does the Passport Office in Mumbai requires to show once we go to the office? And how long does it take to get the Certificate? Thanks.

I have a self-employedjoint sponsor.

I uploaded complete tax returns for the past 3 years and 1099s for each of those years.

I got an rfe asking for 2017 tax transcript.

So might be a good idea to upload that.

I also uploaded a letter stating the nature of her business along with her license info.

Also her past 6 months bank statements.

Very annoyed they asked for the transcript when I already submitted a 50 page tax return.

They should just ask for one or the other.

Just wondering what people are putting on the I-864 for questions that are N/A or the answer is none. I heard that you have to fill out every box - is that true? For instance on the second page it has space for information about up to 5 family members being sponsored, but if only 1 family member is being sponsored do we need to put N/A in all the other boxes?

Same with household size - for instance if you have no dependant children, do you put “0”, “none” or just leave the box blank?

I put N/A for everything that I didn't need to answer - for every single question.

For questions that asked for a number I put 0.

I have just checked my status on the nvc case tracker and in the instructions, it states I should send my petitioner’s and my civil documents via email or mail but a week ago alongside with the ds260, I had already uploaded all the required documents online and submitted all. Do I still need to send via email or mail to nvc? Anyone got this same message during their process at nvc
