Hello,

I submitted all documents to NVC on Jan 21st and got first feedback yesterday Feb 6th (16 days).

Several documents were rejected, and I was wondering if any of you could explain the message: "Please add XX as a Joint sponsor as submit all of their documents under their name"

Did I miss a step? What is the process for adding a joint sponsor? Also, for the passport they mention the name "Casey," but there is no one called Casey anywhere in my file...should I just assume it's a mistake on NVC's part?

And finally, they sent me a message asking for my proof of employment. In the original batch of documents I included a letter stating that I am employed in France and that my job will not continue after I move to the U.S.

Am I still expected to show pay stubs, contracts, etc. for my job in France?

Thank you so much for your help and patience !!!!

Was the passport in Craig’s Name that you submitted. Just request for them to be a joint sponsor, then submit all documents under their name. Go to add applicant. https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/PDF-other/Uploading to CEAC-instrucions.pdf

Checked this morning still saying in process so everyone passed me up i emailed them a copy of the trace number and tranaction for the fees from my bank ...idk...so discouraged

Anything yet! Remember when you said CEAC was the best thing NVC could’ve done? Documents could’ve been mailed and submitted now. You see why I said I wasn’t sure about this CEAC thing. Seems like more of a headache to me. I pray they fixed your account.

No we can’t. We just have to deal with this mess now. I was saying that when I found out I had to do CEAC I wish I could’ve just mailed it in.

Hold on hold on hold on...

Do they really want the PETITIONERS original documents at the interview?   The Petitioner is usually not in the interview country.  For me, I am the petitioner and I am here in America. My wife will have her interview in India hopefully in March.

So, I am to send them my Passport and Driver's License? Really?  How can I drive then?  What if i get arrested or end up in the hospital for some reason and need my identification?  LOL.

And these are awfully important documents to be sending to the other side of the world, so I can't even be guaranteed that they will reach there in the first place.

My wife in India is telling me they do NOT actually want my original documents (she has seen this process be completed for her uncle and multiple relatives).  They want only HER original documents, not MINE.  Mine can just be Notarized photocopies.  Is she correct?

Only an original Marriage termination document like a divorce decree is needed for US petitioner. Sometimes petitioners original US birth certificate is needed also. They don’t need your passport or license.

They won't ask your original passport or driver's license. Marriage certificate, divorce certificates, birth certificates wet signed affidavits of support, etc,

Lol . You are probably correct about the headache.  When it is not one thing, it's the other.  So my payment was cleared within the 2-3  days timeline but I never have all documents until today . The site kept kicking me off and not save my info(ughh, that was frustrating) however after 3 long hours I completed both applications and uploaded my docs . Now i wait in limbo again 😄. I also cast away any rfe in the name of jesus. Let it be done.

Thank you. I just found it weird that there are four digits of my last name  but no my husband's name who is the primary tax payer. Do they just pick one of the last names of the spouses randomly?

I think it's the person who's name was listed first. Nonetheless, don't worry about that at all, you filed jointly so both of your names are on IRS systems. Your transcript won't be rejected.
