Jamaica’s is valid for 6 months. My husband will pick his up on Wednesday. He was originally issued a temporary one.

I got my husband’s police certificate in early January and just got my case number yesterday. On the NVC site it says that it expires after a year but someone told me that the country that he is in (Dominican Republic), the certificates expire after 30 days. If this is true then it expires next week. Does anyone knows if this is true. It seems like a short time. If it is expired can I still upload it for NVC and just get a new police certificate before the interview? 

Yes you can. For NVC it expires a year. But some country expires 30 days but Bahamas own last 6 months.

 

 

yes you can use it for the MVC but get a new one before your interview.

I will get a new one when I get my case because it only take one day to get the police certificate.  So I will

have enough time since I wil have to oaybthe fees and wait 2-3 days to be cleared.

I use to work with them that's why I was able to say a year. The police record must be less than six month. I've in the States a year coming Saturday.

Isn’t it the police record we are talking about that last 6 months? His is only valid for six months according to the date.

That's why I told you call them cause by the time my interview came my police record was 6months. It's the time NVC gets it that matters really. But as I said call them

I think it's best you go from what the certificate says.  Every country has different rules.  For me i have lived in Anitigua for a year so i needed two records.  While the 1 from ja is valid for a year the one from antigua is only valid for 5 days. I have worked alongs the lines of immigration before and  from experience, once the document was submitted before it expires it should ne fine but when going to the interview u get a new one.  Just my opinion still, so u can call the nvc as previously recommended.

Also NVC doesn't issue records so they can't say a particular record is good for a year. 🤷‍♀️, i think it's probably saying that the record once sibmitted  it's good within their system for a year . In that case it would not apply to us. Remember u have different category visas that have to wait until their dates become current before getting an interview date.  So there might be instances where a particular case is there for more than a year, hence needing a new record.
