Okay thank you. Does it need to be signed and dated or anything? We already explained that transcripts weren't possible to obtain when uploading the returns instead but I supposed they might want something more official. Should he still include the signed tax return in the optional documents?

Yes, you have to sign and date the letter. Your husband has to sign and date his tax return as well.

The tax return is signed and dated, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it it's the same as the other two tax returns that were accepted so this just feels so strange but I guess that's bureaucracy for you. I think I need to call the NVC, because the document is listed as rejected we can't seem to resubmit it so I should probably take the time to double check the right way to do it so we don't get rejected again.

Yes, that is best. It was originally uploaded under required documents or additional documents? Please keep up posted. NVC will tell you how to correct the rejection.

Under required documents. We probably should have only uploaded 2017, but I guess it's hard to know exactly how they'll react. I saw some people get rejected for sideways documents and we had a couple that were uploaded sideways and accepted, so it all feels like a big roll of the dice! Thanks so much for the help, I'll definitely keep everyone posted once I've spoken to NVC.

Ok thanks for letting me know. Very strange, I'm guessing a lot of people are trying to access it and the portal cannot cope.

I've just figured it out! It's my internet connection, I turned off wifi on my mobile phone and used my mobile phone internet and got through no problem. If anyone is still having problems, maybe try doing the same.

Thank you. Yeah, NVC is not clear at all regarding what they want. You welcome.  Was the explanation letter uploaded separate from the Tax return? They are so petty about that too. Everything has to be in its own place.

Ok. Thank you. But my husband will fill 1-864ez too right?

I’m confused. Your husband can’t file an I-864ez if you have a joint sponsor, he would fill an I-864 also. I-864ez is for a petitioner who uses their income to support you. You might want to look over this.

Hi - Just wondering if anyone has managed to get through to the NVC via phone today? I've tried calling numerous times today and each time I get an "all operators are busy, please call again later" and the call ends.
