I-751 February 2019 Filers

Which site are you using? 

This is the old site. I has does not work for many recent filers.

For me, this site worked 10 minutes after getting the text with receipt number.

Yes. That’s what i did first, even though i have an account online. Same error message comes up.

I wasn’t not aware of this new site. I guess I’ll have to create an account on this new one. I didn’t get any text, just the usps mail with extension letter.

I thought USCIS would cash the check first, so I kept checking the bank account. But no activity there yet.

Mine was cashed 4 days after the date shown on the I-797 letter

On the new site you will be able to file the N-400 electronically  No more pckages by mail

It is 3 yr GC anniversary, not the 3 year wedding anniversary..some people are confused between the two.

nightmare: i received my whole file back today minus my binder.they rejected my file because they were not able to charge my credit card.  anyway now my question is do i have to file a new form I-751 and remove the one rejected or should i keep the one rejected?

I am curious...

there is a lawyer I spoke to, she said you need to got a valid green card to apply for citizenship

so how come they do the I-751 and N-400 joint interview?

I thought you need to get your 10 year green card then apply for citizenship 😐

File a new one with all the same supporting documents. This time keep a check or money order instead of credit card. I'd go with a check.  I paid by check for all the previous steps and they were cashed with in 3-4 days of receipt of the file.

Don't worry. File a new I-751, and explain that you already filed but got rejected because the CC problem, attach the rejection notice, and this time take a Personal Check or a Cashiers Check for the application. You'll be fine
