Thoughts and prayers!! Worst case we can always hire lawyer and refile the case...It's a little costly though but much less stress!!!

In the past I did try to file papers for the green card on my own, and then for a H1B  visa through a bad attorney . They were 2 different situations, but I'd say having a bad attorney was probably worse than not having one.

Then I got a good attorney and gained peace of mind. If you hire a lawyer, I strongly recommend going with someone with good references.

All the best to you.

Hello everyone!

Sent our documents on Feb 19 and USCIS received it on Feb. 25th. March 6th, the check was electronically processed. But I haven't received any notification via text or email that they received. Do they have to wait till the check clears before they send us anything?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Since your check was processed you are on your way. Go back and check proper email address and /or cell phone number. Give them at least 30 days but you are evidently in the system. Any little issue can delay notification. Check your spam folder as well.. Best of luck!

Good morning!

You are the petitioner in part 7 of the form, part 8 is the US citizen spouse.

Hope this helps, it was very confusing for us too😅

Thanks, my check is processed in Dallas this morning!! I hear you... I have been through H1B too and lawyer was pretty well known but it did not help that much, since it's a very much different process than family sponsored immigration. I have long thought been mastered the stressful condition but I guess not very much. At least check is now cleared and I can have a peaceful week...

We sent the paperwork off on February 27, 2019. It was delivered on March 2, 2019. Today we received the text message informing us that the case was received. Our receipt number starts with MSC (Missouri/National Benefit Center). Hopefully things will progress smoothly. With the extension (official receipt notice, form I-797 to follow, per text), my husband will be able to renew his Drivers License and my stepdaughter will get her hard copy of her driver's permit. We are super excited.

Thank you. For some reason I looked at the back of the check that my bank posted after it cleared from USCIS and that's where I found the LIN number.

I never gotten any paper work yet, but when I check the status online, it's showing that it was received and they sent us the paperwork in the mail on the 28th. I''ll check my mail tomorrow :)

Hopefully we have an NOA1 there and the extention since we are traveling in May and my wife's green card expired on May 15th

If anyone is on the same boat as me and wondering if USCIS processed your documents and you paid via check,

look at the back of your check that your bank posts when it clears for your record. USCIS will put your receipt number...

Good luck everyone! Now the waiting game starts :)

Hopefully you get your biometric appointment too. Because, my green card expires on July 5 and I’ll be filing my paper work April 6 and I want to travel before it expires. However, I won’t be leaving until my biometric is done.
