Our case was received by the USCIS May 16th 2018 / fingerprints on 4/10/2018

Nothing from the USCIS and they said we are  "within current extended processing times"

My wife would like to visit her family in Iran but we worry about her leaving the county and trying to return on her EAD card..... any advice would be appreciated.

I would also like to know if anyone has any feedback on the processing times of the Las Vegas local office...

Does your wife also have a valid AP? If not, she can not leave the country. If she does she will abandon her GC application and she will be sent back to Iran the minute she tries to get back into the States. You would have to start a CR-1 petition for her if that happens.

If she does have her AP she should be good to travel outside the US. I don't know if Iran is on the list of countries you shouldn't travel to (like Syria) but maybe cause she's from there it's already a huge difference then if she would randomly go there.

Las Vegas has a 12-23 month processing time for I-485. They're currently at March 15, 2017 so it might take a little while. That said, the 12-23 month window is an estimate. She might get her interview soon or it could take about 2 years. You can check the processing times via https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

My wife does have an AP card but with the politics between the two countries it makes us nervous.

I think we are going to visit Armenia and pay to have her family and friends visit at the same time....

The processing times are very long... I wonder if her bio metrics will expire before we get an interview?

It is all worth it though..... My wife makes me feel like the luckiest husband in the world!!

thanks!
Richard
