I am really glad to find this thread. This has just occurred with us. How were you able to speak with a representative at USCIS? I am only getting the automated menu. We have tried to get info as to why our forms were sent back before an interview has even been scheduled. Thank You in advance for any advice:)

Try calling early in the morning or later at night. Those are the best times.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Thank You!I appreciate it.

I called as early as I could this morning.Automated menu didn’t even give me an option to speak with someone.

I was just confused that NVC sent our approved I-129F back to USCIS to be reviewed ,as I have never seen that as an option in any of the paperwork.I was relieved to see this thread and that it has happened to others that were still approved. We have been together 6 years and see each other very two months, no criminal background,we both have good jobs. Thanks for the help and advice:)

Thanks for completing your profile and timeline.

If I understand you, this is what happens and why it happened to you.

When NVC receives the approved I-129f from USCIS, they check to ensure that it’s been stamped. Occasionally NVC will receive a petition from USCIS and it does not have the appropriate approval stamp in the upper left-hand corner. NVC is also checking to make sure that the three criminal questions have been answered. NVC noted that there are times when the petitioner will forget to complete those questions and those questions are subsequently missed by the adjudicator.  In both instances, the case will then be sent back to USCIS. If one of these things occur NVC would know within the first week of receiving the case. USCIS will review your case and re-certify once everything is corrected.

I hope this explanation helps.

I understand your frustration :( We were never able to talk to anybody who could tell us what happened (neither USCIS or NVC), we just waited. But you could try sending an inquiry email. After we received our REapproval letter (2nd NOA2) everything went normally. I already entered US. I hope you have answers soon, your case to flow soon. Stay patient.

We got our Re-Approval 2 weeks ago:)Thank you for the advice! It took about 40 days.

I just checked NVC processing times and looks like they should be creating our case number this week. Will they contact me(petitioner) or my fiancé (beneficiary)?

NVC will send the petitioner an email when your case is sent to beneficiary's country. After that you're close to schedule your interview. Due to covid, processing times are a little different as I have seen in some Facebook groups. Luck!

@Greenbaum Our I-797 gives us an Expiration Date of 9/17/2020.
When I look at others with a similar (slightly before) time line in the UK, they have appointments for 9/2020 .What would happen if our I-797 expires before  we are able to get an interview at the UK Embassy in London?

The embassy is responsible for extending the I797. They haven't made any plans for opening and how they're going to handle the extensions but at this point in time I would not worry about it. I would continue as noted. you will find more information in the PDF file that I have posted under the threads by month of NoA 2 to embassy. You'll find the PDF file on the first page with a link.

already had a looooong wait with an RFE...

Interesting thread...similar ish situation, a bit like those described. I-140 was reaffirmed in late summer 2020 , than sent to the NVC, where it was sitting for less 1-1/2 months. Than just recently, it appears USCIS requested the file and NVC sent it. Both USCIS and NVC customer service have no valuable information to share, never got an email notice etc. Only some generic USCIS message saying that my case was received and being reviewed (but the file was already reapproved 3 months ago? how does this make sense). Very confused, no information given, in the dark. Anyone has insights or a similar experience?

Call USCIS customer service and speak with a tier 2 representative as they can dig deeper into your case as they have more access to extended information then those agents who answer the phones. Good luck and stay engaged.

wanted to know. Did your petitioner change your address online with uscis during the process before getting to nvc? I see its looking like that causes it too
