Got an RFE and we marked the wrong box

In the end this is what I did:

 

- Made a new cover letter for the RFE

- Completed the I-129F the right way this time and printed it out and signed and dated it.

- Corrected the RFE form and marked the right question

- Wrote an explanation letter detailing what had happened with the original I-129F and the RFE

- Sent all supporting documents (certified copies of court records)

 

I hope all this is fine and they give us the thumbs up soon!

OMG I can't believe how many people got confused by this. I got it at the first reading... maybe because same thing happened to us. We DID use tip-ex and I was worried so that's why we sent a cover letter explaining the confusion, answering the question with full clarity and signing and dating everything again, we didn't think about including a new page from the I129f. 

 

We got approved after standard time, some people lose RFE's, other never get the letter on the mail but they ask a new one by fax. As long as you explain it was an honest mistake and you include all the important information with it, you'll be fine.
