@JoJo1974 Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

You won't need invoice, but case number will allow you to monitor case status at CEAC website, and schedule your medical appointment assuming your embassy allows it. Your case probably won't get shipped to embassy until Tue, 2nd of April.

Congrats. I got my case number as well. I hope NVC had a chance to review it this week and next week.  As @Shiranmentioned hopefully our cases get shipped  on Tuesday, April 2.

Does anyone know is the Medical Exam I do aboard is valid for 2 years now?

I am thinking to have the Exam done in May and go in USA and marry at Oct then apply for AOS.

I don't want to do the medical exam again in the US but since the AOS is taking alot longer than before, if Medical Exam only valid for a year, there is a high chances I will have to pay to do a exam in US then?

thanks.

From my understanding,  it's still only valid for only one year so if your AOS passes that time frame you'll have to retake it here.

Thanks, I read something about I-693, so I was wondering.

Effective November 1, 2018, the I-693 medical report will be valid for two years from the date of submission to USCIS (and not one year as it is currently).   At the same time, USCIS are shortening the I-693 validity period to 60 days from the date the Civil Surgeon signs the I-693 medical exam (it used to be one year).

The one year validity still applies for K1 applicants. Here is a copy of what the I-693 instruction pdf says:

 3. What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical examination overseas?
If you were admitted as a:
A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or
B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and
C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:
(1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as you file your Form I-485 within one year
of an overseas medical examination; and
(a) The panel physician did not find a class A medical condition during your overseas examination; or
(b) The panel physician did find a class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility, and
you have complied with the terms and conditions of the waiver.
(2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the
vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included
as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the Part 9. Vaccination
Record completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you must submit Parts 1., 2., 3., 4., 6., and 9. of Form I-693.

You can find the instructions for K1 applicants on the I-693 instruction form under frequently asked questions (should be page 7 question 3)

We decided to call NVC today to check on our case as we got our NOA2 on Feb 4, 2019. They said they only received our case on March 19, 2019. The officer also said it would take them 8 weeks to process our case. Is this the normal timing?

I was told it takes about 8 weeks for the case to be processed.  I took them about 3 days.

They received my case march 19th and i had a case number on the 22nd.  I seen some people get case numbers the same day they received.

Hi. I'm Filipino but based in Thailand, so I would be processing my visa here. Should I change my "Embassy" to Thailand for better gathering of information? Thanks! :)
