Be careful as a few of those suggested questions are designed to trip up a person. I'd be very cautious!!!!

Yes I notice a couple like the one that ask when do you plan leaving the US. In fact, my friend that gave me the list told me that they asked that exact question to her in the interview.

For me it was helpful to prepare in those questions and practice them in english, since my native lenguage is spanish

I'm sorry if they are not any help for others, I just tried to contribute somehow in something I thought can be good

I tried your way and nothing came up. If you wait 24 hours the hack that I posted that you initially referred to does work just not on the day of the shipment.

I put in APR 2019C DHL tracking box chose  Thailand as the country

i think it has to show READY at the embassy or CEAC for you to be able to access it. Your packet just got sent today right? Give it till Friday and try it again. You should be there by then

definitely not true. you can schedule your appointment as soon as you have your case number from NVC, as many have before in countries with super long wait times. The issue was simply a system error, because the bank overcharged her by 8 uah. Not sure why, but it locked the receipt. I had to submit a help request and they had me agree that there were no refunds for the over payment before they would activate the receipt number (oh no, but my 30 cents 😭) and then it was good to go. she's scheduled for the 1st.

Oh no not saying they were not useful, I just noticed a couple of the questions are designed to mess you up if you are not careful in your answers. Thanks for posting them.

Yes I’m aware but my fiancé was told in order to go for his medical exam they want to see the NVC email saying that the shipment was sent, idk why but we’re just going by what they asked for

Because I once contacted NVC through the AskNVC page & requested that my email be linked to my case for updates, I received an email from NVC this afternoon after my case was shipped. Hence, you'll receive the email if you requested it. If not, you may check the status of your case as pointed out earlier.

You can check it on the ceac website:

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

Your case will most likely be going to the embassy on the April 2nd shipment so just hang tight until then. Fill out your DS160 if you can and start looking up what required forms you'll need for your embassy. Time will start to move pretty quickly from this point.

So is it DS 260 or DS 160.

I read it somewhere that DS 260 no longer requested but embassy site states otherwise (fill out DS 260)

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the stupid question!!

I called and got my NVC case number. (I am petitioner)

While we wait for the package to be sent to my fiance (beneficiary), Ill be continuing collecting and finalizing my docs.

Until then, it's okay to go ahead and do the DS 160 right??

Is there anything else I should do while I'm waiting??

This is question for your local subforum. Exact procedures vary a lot between embassies. Generally, you should be fine doing DS-160, and arranging medical since you have your case number now. Prepare I-134 and supporting documents if you haven't yet. Remember there is a new version of I-134 now.

Mine is in transit as well! Let me know when you set the interview date. I'm getting my Fiancee in India to Submit the DS-160 tomorrow (3.20) and make the payment and hopefully by 3.20 evening here i can try to schedule the appointment for her!

We got our DS-160 finally paid (it took about 24 hours for the payment to process since he went to the bank in person). We saw an interview date of 4/05 and took it. Biometrics have been scheduled for 4/03. A little close for us but the way we've seen in go with other timelines is:

-Ships out on Tuesday to Mumbai, Mumbai has received it historically on Monday. This next Monday, March 25th is when it should arrive.

-Packet 4 is sent and can be received anywhere from 7 days (including the weekend) to 18 days depending on where it's being shipped to. Since he's in Mumbai, we expect it to be the minimum of 7 days so April 1st.

We're still a bit confused on what we need to bring for medical. Some people have said just the email notification that it shipped. We don't have an appointment for that but will let you know how it goes.

According to the Embassy, we can reschedule multiple times. Will you also let us know if you saw different dates and what was most avaliable? If we need to reschedule, it might be nice to know what was the earliest from your end too.

Can the e-mail from NVC be sufficient enough to get Police Clearance Certificate? Because she went to Ahmedabad Police station close to her house and they told her we need a letter for Consulate!
