Our case finally left the NVC for the Mumbai Consulate. Originally was received by NVC on 02-28 (the wait has been excruciating since we somehow missed the cutoff for the 03-05 send date). We did not receive any kind of email today which we thought was odd, but go figure. Our case has updated on the ceac website as In Transit as of 9 a.m. this morning. Last week someone posted in the India NAO2-> NVC forum that they saw theirs go in the early morning too.

Is turn around quick for NVC to assign a case number, review and send it to the embassy? If they got 2/28 and cutoff 3/5... is it enough time?

My case is already showing "ready" on the CEAC tracker! I was so surprised but so thankful for the quick turn around!🙌😁 Also I know Greenbaum you said NVC doesn't send emails that the cases are in transit, but I got this email yesterday saying my case was sent! Weird, but I was thrilled to see it!

We received the same email on March 5th and I read a couple cases that received it too. I don't really know why some people receive it and another one not

It's taking around 30+ days just to receive a case number. The NVC send date to the consulate really just depends on when you received your case number.

Since they ship out cases to the consulate  every two weeks on Tuesdays and 3/05 was the next Tuesday scheduled, if we had maybe received our case number on Monday, 02/25 or Tuesday, 02/26...we probably would have made the 3/05 shipment and only had to wait a week. But instead, since they approved on Thursday, 2/28, we unluckily missed whatever cutoff they had established making our wait almost 3 weeks. It just comes down to luck and good timing.

So ours was 30 days to receive a case number, then additional 19 days just to get it sent to the consulate.

Hey just wondering how long it took for it to be in ready after you got the email?

I will ask for clarification on what they want exactly, I was under the impression we should be getting some official document from NVC saying our case was forwarded maybe I’m wrong. My status has already changed to in transit

There is indeed an e-mail that is being sent by NVC. This is what we got about a month ago. 2 shipments ago. It was sent to my (petitioner's address) but was addressed to my beneficiary.

This depends highly on your specific country. Do the medical if you haven't yet, pay visa fee, do DS-160, schedule interview, gather documents etc. HOW it is done is different from country to country.

Mine is in transit as well! Let me know when you set the interview date. I'm getting my Fiancee in India to Submit the DS-160 tomorrow (3.20) and make the payment and hopefully by 3.20 evening here i can try to schedule the appointment for her!
