How is everyone finding out their NVC case number? Are you calling or do they send you an email notification or a physical notification in the mail?

My NOA2 was February 4th and haven’t heard a thing, but I also haven’t called.

I just realized I have a TAI case number but I was expecting a MNL number. Did NVC mess up? We just completed the DS160 when it hit me in the head. Our i129F (62.a + b) stated the Embassy was Manila, PH. My fiance currently lives in Taiwan for work but is leaving in the last week of this month. Is there anyway the manila office will accept a TAI case number or do I need a newly assigned MNL#?

If the beneficiary is living in another country then that country is the choice that NVC will make for you.  You can transfer the file once it arrives at TAI to MNL but expect about a delay of 30-45 days. Why not just do it from TAI?

*Can both of you complete your profiles. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Don't jump the gun too fast. Does she have a NVC case #. If so then she will be on the next shipment possibly. To me it looks like it hasn't been assigned a CN# yet.

Thanks. I must have been confused from the start, it doesn’t make since why they ask for question 62 on the i129f if current residence overrides where they ship to. We had plans for her to go back home for 2 months before she makes the trip to the US so we figure she would do everything in MNL. She has a flight lined up for the 28th so time is not on our side to make the interview.

We filled out and submitted the DS160 using the TAI number intended for MNL embassy, do we create another one once we receive a MNL#? How do we discard the old one?

If the package gets to the embassy this week (assuming it ships the 19th) can she go to the Taiwan embassy and request it be transferred when it arrives?

You have a year to do the interview.  The address that you submitted that she was living at became her interview country. That's just how it works. I doubt she will be allowed in at the embassy best do it email. Don't pay your interview fee till your in the Philippines as it will one less phone call to have it it linked to the new embassy.

My NOA2 approval was 2/11. I called today 3/18 and I finally got a case number from NVC.

Now I got it, I read through what's been written and I am not sure what to do with it. I can't check anywhere else on the status of it. Does having a case number mean it's been approved by NVC as well?

You can check it on the ceac website:

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

Your case will most likely be going to the embassy on the April 2nd shipment so just hang tight until then. Fill out your DS160 if you can and start looking up what required forms you'll need for your embassy. Time will start to move pretty quickly from this point.

i am not sure, but it appears they usually have about 9 slots per day and they seem to fill pretty quick too, I am hoping we will have enough time to schedule it mid-late april but it depends on one of her co workers coming back from a trip to Spain because again she needs to take 2 days off to travel to Kyiv

I called NVC and they received our case from USCIS on 3/14.  Is there any benefit of calling them to see if they have  applied a case #?  I did not want to spend the time or money calling NVC long distance to receive the case number if there was no benefit at this point.

Thanks

Wait about a week to call. Sometime next week would be a good time to call

Approving is not something that NVC does. Their function is to assign case numbers. Follow the instructions from  @celie&joseph.

Hey there! you can follow this thread that is with people filling from Argentina! maybe your questions will be answer quicky because the process in the same country is similiar! According to my experience, I'm from Argentina and I didn't call NVC even once. They sent a email to my fiance with the # file number and saying the packet was on the way to the embassy. My NOA2 is February 12th and NVC February 28th. If you are argentinian too maybe you can ask your fiance to call for you since it wouldn't be long distance.

If you have any question don't doubt to send me a message or comment in the argentinian thread! Good luck!
