I sent the NVC an email (as the beneficiary) last week asking to update our emails on file but accidentally wrote the wrong month for my fiance's birthday. I haven't received anything back but I'm wondering if I should re-send the request or wait for some sort of response. Hoping it won't be much of an issue.

I would just send another email, with everything correct and updated. I doubt it's an issue.

Question.

I am filling out I-134

#10 asks for USCIS number is this the number that was given to us (WAC)? Or is it talking about something else and I don't have to worry about?

#38 Do I have to check "Intend" or "do not intend" I am a little confused.

Thank you guys.

# 10, unless you created an acct online, leave blank

# 38, you INTEND and then provide narrative of what you intend to provide.

Do you think? And I ask, does it even matter?  As soon as I get my case number, I'm calling the embassy direct to schedule.  As long as they have them electronic copy, I can think of no reason why the hard copy should be required.  Maybe it will be a requirement, but I'm darn sure going to test the system to know for sure.

It wont work - i tired it myself and they will call you to cancel the interview the day before ---it happened to me.

I was in Kyiv and saw the case had been sent to the embassy. I scheduled the interview a few days after it had been sent by NVC and the day before the interview the embassy called and said the paper file was not ready and that I should go onto usatraveldocs and reschedule the interview. I said the hell with it - i will show up to the consulate and we did the following morning.  We had nothing to lose as we were staying in Kyiv.  OUr name wasn't on the list outside and i spoke with security - showed them my confirmation letter from usa traeldcos -  they said hang tight and we will make a phone call and let you know.  SEcurity went inside and called the consular section and they advised that the elecronic file is there but the paper one is not and that they specifically told us to cancel the interivew b/c they need the actual file.  We had to wait a few more days - got notice from the embassy that we could schedule and did so a few days later.  Stupid rule but you will get a phone call the day before if you schedule before the file is ready at the embassy.

#10 I didn't really create an acount unless you count that website where we had to register for the new USCIS website for tracking the case.

#38 Any examples of what should I say for number 38? Do I just write that on the bottom (extra page)? There is no space right next to it. I thought that we don't have to put "I intend" because its talking about "Specific contributions".

I know that there're a lot of confusions about how to fill out Vietnamese 4-letter name on a document.  For me, I wrote her name as the American naming format on the Intent to Marry letter and everything was fine.  When you get to fill out the DS-160, you'll have this problem again as on DS-160 it asks to fill out exactly as it shows on the passport but then it'll be different with other documents as we filled out the American naming format.

Didn't work, but I admire your chutzpah.

Good luck.

I just called again for my NVC number, no luck, 4+ weeks now.

10...leave blank...different accounts

38...I followed a sample form and said in the narrative: all expenses including, but not limited to, Visa expenses, airline  ticket cost to come to USA, US domestic travel, lodging, food, incident expenses, and medical insurance.

Called the NOA regarding our 2/1 NOA2 on our 7/23 NOA1 petition and still..... Nothing received.  Incredibly frustrating to see the ongoing delay.  Although I see five other February NOA2 date showing up on the tables here as being received by the NVC and case numbers granted.  We had no RFE's, no previous marriage on her part, no children, no police history at all for either of us and we are both educated and gainfully employed.  But we wait... as we now see September and October applicants receiving their case numbers.  I wish them all well of course, but I do not understand how this type of disparity occurs.

What tables are you talking about? I have NOA 2 date of Feb. 5 and still nothing. Been calling all day today and haven't been able to reach anyone on the phone today.

You're way to early with a NOA2 date of 2/5. It's taking about 2 weeks to NVC and 2-4 weeks to assign a case number. You seriously need a hobby. :jest:

How does one know when cases get shipped out of NVC?

You take the case number and go to ceac.state.gov and choose "immigrant" and then enter your case number. It will return one of three stages 1) transit - shipment is in the air or soon will be, 2) received - physical case file is at the Embassy and 3) ready - your case is ready to schedule and complete your interview.  These will be your current state or status to your case file once you have received the case number.

If you forget how to do this it's outlined in the first post of this thread along with other valuable information. And its free. :D

In the new revised I-134 form dated 11/30/2018 - Question #38 now regards contributions.  You leave the yes/no boxes "unchecked" and your explanation is submitted in Part 7 on page 8 of the new form.

You will do this:

3.a. "Page 4"

3.b. "Part Number 3"

3.c. "Item Number 38"

3.d. "N/A (K1 Visa Process For Permanent Residence)"

Q 10 The DS-160 - Part 1 Question 10 is either your WAC#, your NVC case # or you could leave it blank. All three will work.
