credit goes to my fiancee ;) she is the one who suggested to use it. she is smarter than she thinks she is

I for one appreciate that she shares that information and uses it in her pursuit of a visa and to share it with the rest of us. Any tool that will lift the burden of understanding in this process is GOLD! Please extend my appreciation for this her shared knowledge.

The DS160 is probably the most annoying application ever. aside from timing out constantly which I’ve been able to work around I’m now having issues with the photo upload I’ll upload The photo it passes the quality assessment is 600 pixels by 600 pixels and under the size limit but when I hit upload it says sorry something went wrong try again later. Anyone find a trick to getting past this?

you do not have to upload a photo. better bring in with you on the day of your interview.

Many others have stated the same. The problem will pop up every once in awhile. The work around is to wait 24 hours and try again which usually corrects the problem.

Called the NOA regarding our 2/1 NOA2 on our 7/23 NOA1 petition and still..... Nothing received.  Incredibly frustrating to see the ongoing delay.  Although I see five other February NOA2 date showing up on the tables here as being received by the NVC and case numbers granted.  We had no RFE's, no previous marriage on her part, no children, no police history at all for either of us and we are both educated and gainfully employed.  But we wait... as we now see September and October applicants receiving their case numbers.  I wish them all well of course, but I do not understand how this type of disparity occurs.

Yes that is correct. Your petition is being sent to NVC as NVC is tasked with the assignment of case numbers for all K-1's and not the consulate. Now they may have sent a electronic copy to the consulate but the hardcopy of the case file has not be forwarded from NVC till such time as the case number is assigned and you have bet the shipping schedule.

Do we in fact know that a consulate has to physically receive the "hard copy" prior to the interview and/or prior to the issuance of the Visa? I know we'e bounced this around before but I thought there might be new information or understandings.

Most embassies require the file on CEAC to be set to ready prior to the interview. If you show up for a schedule interview prior to your status set to "ready" you will be turned away. Best to set it for 2-4 weeks out which gives you time to complete the other required steps from the P3.

I have everything ready except for the Medical Visit.  Have had most of it completed for some while now.  It seems for every step I take to expedite the process, the farther we get pushed along the timeline.  It's very disappointing to be a July applicant and see September, October, and now even November applicants pass us by.  Especially considering there have been absolutely no issues with our application.

You are way to early to expect a case number. Go to the first page of this thread and read the first post where I outline the timeline for case number issuance.

Thanks for the answer but I would also like to confirm with others to make sure its not just a single instance of this.

Any others who can confirm that we do not need to upload the photo to 160 form and can just show up to the interview bringing a photo in hands?

Thank you.

I had a lot of problems similar to yours with my upload as well.  I kept diminishing the photo and then suddenly it uploaded.  I can't tell you the reason but just encourage you to be persistent.  I can't specifically say as to the "only bring the hard photos".  It sounds logical as not everyone has digital photography capability but I haven't seen it addressed formally.
