Hi everyone!
I´m a bit confused, I have been reading along when you guys have been talking about who makes it to the next NVC shipment and when, and that they are quite backed up and it takes about a month. So I understand that they get sent out on the 5th and the 19th. Our NOA2 date is 02/14, will we maybe make it on the 03/5 shipment to NVC you guys think?

The shipments mentioned are in regards to when they get shipped to the embassy after you have a case number but nobody knows for sure when USCIS ships to NVC unfortunately. From recent cases though it's taking no sooner than 20 days (usually 25-30 days) which would start on Wednesday for yall so I'd start calling then and see if they have a case number. With some good luck you'll hear something from late this week to mid next week!

Thank you! I hope so too! I guess yours should be on the way to the embassy here on the 03/05 then! That´s awesome! :D
Yes I hope for a short embassy time wait too, but actually all of Denmarks and the Scandinavian countries applications are sent to Stockholm Sweden, so it still adds up to a good amount of people, but I have been told that the Sweden Stockholm wait isn't too long, so I hope that holds up :D I want to get to my fiance already!!
So just conspiring and curious, and if I get it right,  there might be a chance if we get the NVC case nr. before 03/19 we might make the 03/19 embassy shipment you think?

Oh wow I didnt know that! Beirut is booked up until the 18th of March so hopefully we get to schedule for the last week of the month.

And I think if you get it before the 13th you have a good bet of making the 19ths shipment. Fingers crossed! 🤞🤞🤞

Hey all! New to the forum - just joined today, but I have been reading these threads earlier. Thank you all for helpful info!

JosephineAndBobby you mentioned all the Scandinavian petitions go to Stockholm first. Do they then travel to the embassies in the other countries? Do you happen to know if applications to Finland do that too? Since Finland is technically part of the Nordic countries, but not Scandinavian..

Hi riina.anna :D
Congratulations!
Yes I know that the Danish, Norwegian and (of course) Swedish citizens all travel to Stockholm, Sweden to do the interview. I´m not sure whether that applies to Finnish citizens or not, the best thing is to look it up on your own embassy's webpage.
I´m sorry can´t give you a clear answer.

Oh, yes. Haha, now I feel stupid. I did know that, I for some reason though that JosephineAndBobby meant that the applications travel first to Stockholm and then get sent to for example Copenhagen. Sorry for the stupid question and confusion :D

Does anyone know if it matters where the DS-160 gets submitted from? Internet is pretty unreliable in Egypt where my fiancé lives so I was hoping I’d be able to do on his behalf here. Idk if that would make any difference.

From what I've read, it has to be geographically submitted from a comp in the beneficiary's country. You can completed, but he has to e-sign and press send/submit.

I did some searching on this and came up with nothing. I think it's just legally supposed to be signed by the beneficiary, because it's their application, but there's no IP tracking or anything like that going on. I'm sure there are many people that have signed it for there spouses without issues.

I'd like to say that there is no problem in asking a question. I wish I could say there is no stupid question but in my 5 years of answering questions I have come across my fair share of those that would garner a "WHAT?" thought. So don't be afraid to ask. Everyone here is learning something they have probably never done before.

Your observation is correct. The problem comes, and I have never heard of this happening, when "you" are asked "were you the one who submitted your DS-160?". Then that question requires a truthful answer. Now the CO at the interview are very good at "interrogation" and they can listen and judge if the "person" is telling the truth or not and so most would fail if they were to offer the wrong answer. But, of course occasionally someone may be a good "liar" and not get called out. But here is where "you" have to be careful.

Other people can assist you with your visa application. Note that under U.S. law (22 C.F.R. 41.103) you must electronically sign and submit your own application unless you qualify for an exemption. Even if someone else helped you complete the application, you (the applicant) must click the “Sign Application” button, or your application may not be accepted. The Form DS-160 shall be signed by the applicant, with intent to be bound by all statement in the NIV application under penalty of perjury.

Here is my advice. As a couple you work together answering the questions. Once you are complete and you believe it's ready STOP! Now, each of you look through the copy that is ready to be submitted. Look for blanks or unanswered questions, look for spelling errors and look at dates. Once BOTH are satisfied then the beneficiary is the one to take the oath and submit the document. They can do so from anywhere in the world as I cannot site any procedure that is available to indicate otherwise.
