No I’m talking about the address where she will reside in the USA. I put my Texas address originally, but I’m wondering if it would be better to put my new NY address. Or does it not really matter?

I thought I must have misunderstood. I forgot each form asks for the address at which the beneficiary will reside in the United States. Since you've already submitted the papers, maybe you could update the info during the interview, if it turns out she will be residing with you in New York.

Hey everyone-

so- the US consulate in cairo received my documents on april 7, and my NVC status is sitting at “Ready”. I have not received my packet 3 yet. I however already know the content of packet 3. Is there harm in sending in our documents? Per the NVC blurb - they are ready to receive them....

Thanks in advance.

NVC has nothing to do with the embassy. What do others say in your subforum? What does the P3 state? Each embassy is different on how they proceed at this point in the process.

Congratulations.  Write a review but do it for your Consulate.  Select your flag in your profile and look for the Consulate link.

Hey all!

After suggesting it to the admins, there's now an option to add in reviews of your medical exams/appointments when you review your embassy/consulate experience :D I'd hope that everyone here that has recently done their medical will be doing this for all those anxious about it! I know that being able to read reviews of others that did the medical in my area would have really helped to put my mind ease before the appointment.

Check the screenshot below for what I mean!

We still have not received our visa. We have been waiting since April 3rd (when interview was Approved) for our status to change from  "Ready ". It has updated a few times but still says ready...Has anyone had this happen to them? It's been 9 working days already.

Today is a big day for some as your case file may ship out to your embassy. Check CEAC for updated progress and look for "in transit"!! If that shows you are on your way. Also, for those who want to have a little fun in tracking your shipment see the DHL hack on the first page of this thread in the first post. Scroll down about 3/4 of the way for instructions. The information will not be available till Wednesday as the DHL and NVC computers have to be sync with each other to produce the outcome.

You have three stages 1) transit - shipment is in the air or soon will be, 2) received - physical case file is at the Embassy and 3) ready - your case is ready to schedule and complete your interview.  These will be your current state or status to your case file once you have received the case number. Good luck.

Our visa was approved this Monday. Apr 15. Status was “received” on Monday. On Tuesday it changed to “administrative processing”. And today status changed to “issued”. If you had your approval on April 3rd and still haven’t heard anything you should deff start making calls because it’s unusual.

What does CEAC site shows for visa status? If it shows "Issued" are you having TMM hold passport and visa for pick up or having it delivered? If you are holding it for pickup and status on CEAC site shows Issued, which is what I would recommend (fewer places for things to go wrong or lost) I would expect she will get a call from them this week or maybe early next week assuming elections will not put things into too much disarray.

Good luck. Which airline are you using?

She got her passport with visa but they never called or emailed. We checked it on TMM site and it said that it was ready to pick up.

She is flying Ukrainian airline on May 11th (Saturday) direct flight from Kiev to New York. Is anyone else flying that day? Would be a good thing if she knows someone on a plane and do it together.

A question. Do you know a good post that I can read about what kind of questions she should prepare for at POE. Her English is not so good and she is nervous. Anything she needs to know about New Your entry? I will be there waiting for her once she gets through the security.

My wife recently went through JFK POE as well, this is what she said to a similar question recently:

Quote

First you have to get through passport control. She will have to go to the different line. One is for American citizens, other is for non American citizens. Then she will be separated again cuz her Visa requires her to talk to the officer. She will need to have her envelope ready. Then she will be taken to another room where her package will be checked (do not use cellphones there, they are very strict about it). After that done she can go take her luggage. She can give it back again at the same terminal. I'm assuming she will need to go to terminal 5 for her next flight. There's a train that can take her there. Then there's another TSA check and after that she can look for her flight."
